You all talk about electric cars, sports cars, high end performance and all that....

All I want is a late 1970s-90s gigantic land yacht with seats more comfortable than your living room couch and a gigantic front hood that feels like you're piloting a boat. And that lovely big car suspensions that felt like you were driving on a cloud. I don't care if it takes half a century to get up to speed...those old cars were the height of comfortable driving.

They suck watching live. Went to the last Grey Cup in Ottawa and left half way through the 3rd. Too dam cold and the game was garbage.

I hear that. I went to a Packers game at Soldier Field years ago in like January. Snowing and windy. Beers were freezing mid pour. Not fun.

I attended a Calgary versus Edmonton CFL playoff game many years ago. It was so cold that a coffee I spilled froze before hit the ground. So, I know what you mean.

so we are being bombarded with commercials for an air pump that resembles a hand drill...bu#$%e.ca

great commercial.. all the things you can use it for. And a mere $79.99 plus taxes. So say $92

1) PUMP Your VEHICLE TIRE WHEN IT IS DOWN...uhhhh.. IF IT IS DOWN, YOU HAVE A FLAT. who CARES about A PUMP!!! Minor loss in pressure should never occur, unless you have a slow leak. In which case get to a mechanic.

2) a wheelbarrow.. f*** yea. everyone has one. And everyone uses it 2-3 times a day everyday. And even for those few, if the tire is down, a simple hand pump from Walmart, costing $15 will do.

3) bicycle tire.. the pump has a peek pressure of about 35 psi..Most bike tires are 50-125 psi. And the Walmart hand pump is perfect, at $15.

4) soccer ball, football, volleyball, exercise ball... UHHHH, we all have 2-3 dozen and need to pump them daily. We are back to the $15 Walmart sucker.

Are we this bad? are we so stupid that we will buy. Only to have this thing sit in the garage or basement and collect dust.

Why is it that when anyone comes up with a crazy idea, we jump?

those who have bought Generac generators, How many operational hours do you have on these babies? near ZERO!

Do you own a car? Have you ever hit a pot hole? Loss of air happens for reasons other than a slow leak you know. Cold temperatures?

I would never buy one of those things. My neighbor saw I had a tire low on air and offered to pump it up for me with his drill/hand pump. It died after about 30 seconds. I felt bad but what can you do. It would probably be perfect for bicycle tires though, inflatable beds, blow up dolls etc.

Hundreds of Beavers, one of the funniest and most inventive independent movies of the past few years, is free on YouTube with ads.

Basically a live action Tex Avery cartoon, all made by a guy with a few friends in the Minnesota woods for $150k. Really fun.

Cars are an emotional thing for me, which EVs just don't hit. I drove a friend's Audi GT RS, their beautiful Taycan twin, and yes it is fast, but there is no crescendo to it. There is no excitment. It just goes eve bending quick but with no fanfare.

It's like someone going to an F1 race today. Unbelievable cars that sound sweet. But go back to the V10 era, and there is no comparisonas to the emotions that stir in you , and that is what cars can and should do to people.

The only EVs in my house are my whipper snapper, lawn mower, and eager to try (not to eager lol) snow blower. The only car I could remotely consider would be the BMW i3 series whatever it is called

Gotta say, even though I went with the cheap brand...Ryobi...night and day between electric and gas powered tools.

Lawnmower works so well and is so quiet...weed Wacker is amazing, my dad always wants to borrow my Ryobi weed Wacker in favour of his Stihl Wacker. It's just so much easier. No mixing gas and oil. No having to buy gas in a stinky container making your trunk stink. No having to adjust the choke while you pull the thing 20 times because it's cold out.

Just turn it on and pull the trigger. Quiet and instant torque so it cuts really well.

But I agree, with cars, a lot of the fun is the noise. With tools, I could do without the noise.
