Calling Ghostbusters a classic is a wee bit of a stretch

A fun movie no doubt, a classic however? I think not

I'm not sure why this is getting the blacklash it is though; it's just another big budget Holywood comedy, not sure why that it has an all-female team makes it worse than the boat load of similar movies we get every year.

Ghostbusters is a classic in my mind, up there as one of the best comedies for me, although The Big Lebowski will probably always reign supreme on my mind.

So there is a game called Euro Truck Simulator. Today I learned it has an online mode, and apparently there are real traffic jams

What an odd game to play

That's really not that high of praise is it really? Bethesda games really aren't that great outside Morrowind, the GTV and Saints Row franchises are really love it or hate it type games.

The only real modern competition is Assassins Creed and that series peaked at 2.

Am I missing any other ones?

(I guess Dishonored was my GOTY 2013, but that was more because of how bad the rest of the field was in 2013)

Lies. All lies!

Ghostbusters is a classic much in the same way Groundhog Day is a classic.

Also, with each Terminator trailer - I get slightly more interested in watching it. Same with Jurassic World... despite the fact that both look like they're just mashups of all the movies in their respective series that came before them.

Ghostbusters is getting backlash because they moved on without the 'blessing' of the principles from the original.

You think so? I think Ghostbusters is absolutely a classic.

Ghostbusters is a classic and the new one won't suck because of a female cast it will suck because Paul Feig is a ****** writer/director.

He has done nothing since then that has convinced me this spiritual sequel (pun intended) will be worth watching.

I mean, he's the guy who has repeatedly made movies where Melissa McCarthy falling down is a punch line.

Ghostbusters is TOTALLY a classic of the comedy genre. Tsss.

Jurassic World looks like a complete disaster. Every single piece of dialogue I've heard is cringe-worthy and it seems to me the leads have both been miscast and have zero chemistry. I'll eat my hat if it gets more than 50% of Rotten Tomatoes/Metacritic etc.

As for the new Terminator, they lost me at "Genisys", which is the dumbest spelling in a title ever, and have continued to do so which each new trailer.

I can't wait to go see Mad Max this week though. :D

Hot Takes:
- The new Ghostbusters looks horrid. The cast is cringey at best. The director's track record is far from impressive. Yikes.
- Terminator: Genysis has the potential to be just as bad as Terminator III.
- Jurassic World look mediocre and goofy.

As you can tell, I'm really optimistic about Hollywood blockbusters these days.

Also: Ghostbusters is ABSOLUTELY a classic.

I can't even think of an argument that would support it not being one.

Also, Part 2: The new Ghostbusters, Jurassic Park, and Terminator movies all look like steaming piles of horse ****.

CGI is terrible for the most part is why I'm not that excited about Jurrasic Park. The original will still work better I bet. The animatronic up close shots are spectacular in the original.

So most of the older guys agree: Ghostbusters is a classic, and the new Terminator, Ghostbusters and Jurassic Park flicks look terrible.

Noice. Group hug.
