I posted this in the Around the NHL thread, but I have a feeling it would have a better audience here:

The 2015 All Hockey Hair team was announced yesterday.

At some point in the future the Senators should have a line with three players who either have first or last names starting with E. That way the line could be called the Triple-E line, and would possibly be the most fitting line name for a team ever.

Most of Europe is at higher latitudes than most of non-Western Canada and where I am (around 50th parallel) even with daylight savings you have the sun up by five am in the summer and not until nearly eight am in the winter. I would definitely not want the sun up at either four or not until nine. But we don't switch till the end of March.

Holy crap, how do hockey players get facial stitches and only miss like a shift or two?

I got some for the first time yesterday and when I just went to change the bandaid, I felt like I was going to throw up from the pain.

I just got even more respect for those guys.

If I don't get my contract extended, I was thinking about moving and having a fresh start. Where would you guys recommend?

Should I go to Ottawa ? How hard is it to go to the States?

Do you like snow and cold?

Do you like guns and no health care?

There are your answers...

Try Bermuda, I hear it's nice...

Pretty sure that entirely depends on your industry and whether you have a sponsor willing to go through the red tape to bring you there.

Accounting / Finance. But to be honest, I'd rather stay in Canada. Just too expensive in North/West Vancouver and I don't want live anywhere else in Van if not on the North Shore. Victoria is okay, a little cheaper and has good food / decent weather.

Ottawa, at least, gives me the chance of randomly stumbling into Bobby Ryan in a coffee shop with him having his 3ds on him and we can do a Pokemon battle.

Why not go all the way over to the east coast? Supposedly St. John's is booming these days on the strength or something or other.

Out in a t-shirt for the third straight day in Victoria. Maybe we should just move the sens here, that would be fine by me...

So today I witnessed one of the dumbest acts of driving I have ever seen.

A car is just starting to cross the train tracks when the things start to go down. Instead of driving across the second set of tracks, that don't have anything blocking the side of the road that goes away from the tracks, this person stops in the car sized gap between the tracks. 15 seconds later a train passes behind the car. After another 15 seconds of waiting the train that is leaving the station finally does and slowly passes I front of the car. The car then stayed in the intersection until the gate behind it went up.

Damn they're lucky.
Where I grew up, there was almost an annual fatality from someone being dumb driving across tracks.

NEVER EVER start to cross tracks unless you have a full car length clear in front of you on the other side.

Wasn't even any cars in front of them. Could have just driven across the tracks long before the train came, but for whatever reason they stopped.

Not hard to get to the States at all from my experience.

You have never been to Ottawa for extended periods of time Polak?

Where are you these days? I seem to remember a while back you mentioned you were in Czech Rep. (Prague?) or something like that.

How are you enjoying it? We might have an opportunity to move to Europe soon, though a little further west than Cze. I obviously realize that Cze would be way different than the Alps, but as far as travel, economies, etc... what's your impressions?

Worst parts of being in England in a hotel that was on the edge of a rural area... friggin birds waking you up at 4am in the summer because the sun was starting to rise. That and it being pitch black by 4pm in Jan and Feb.

Weirdest experience is entering a bar when it's dark outside, and leaving when it's daylight...
