Are you sticking to Canadian beers, or are you willing to go international with your flavors?
Ill give anything a shot!
Are you sticking to Canadian beers, or are you willing to go international with your flavors?
I'm not an expert, but here it goes:Beer suggestions? I wanna broaden my horizons beyond molson canadian.
I know how how to lose weight.
My problem is I sit so much every day that eating 1500-2000 calories a day leaves me maintaining. I eat 100% clean every single day.
I'm not an expert, but here it goes:
- summer on a patio and it's very hot? I prefer Dos Equis (or Corona)
- springtime on a patio? European blondes: Karlsberg, Heineken, Pilsner Urquell (sp?), Stella, Leffe, or some Canadian lager.
- springtime and you're actually thirsty? try some German white beer, like Erdinger. Interesting aftertaste.
- eating spicy food? Any Asian beer can do the job: Kingfisher, Tiger, Sapporo, etc.
- winter time and you're watching soccer with your buddies? Time to get a bit more serious with slightly darker fare with some Bass, Boddington, or London Pride. If you want to stay local (e.g. if you're watching hockey instead of soccer) : Creemore or some light local IPA (especially if you're at a pub that's making its own beer: Big Rig, Clocktower etc.)
- winter time and you're having a heady conversation about the merits of Carbon Tax or Sartre's existentialism? Time to go bitter with some Guinness, or some hoppy local IPA. Note that this stuff is an acquired taste, so hold off on these or practice at home on your own first.
Pub Italia is a great place to sample international beers. The fancy restaurants in Westboro will give you your fix of local IPAs.
Basically, like wine, there's a beer for every mood and every food.

- summer on a patio and it's very hot? I prefer Dos Equis (or Corona) Personally I'm not a huge fan of Mexican beers, so I might suggest something a little different... I like a crisp beer on a hot day, so lighter pilsners and some Euro beers like Staropramen are awesome in this regard. Also, for something different, if you can find a good Radler (beer + lemonade brews), they are amazing "post yard-work" beers... I can drink those one after the other like it's nothing.
- springtime on a patio? European blondes: Karlsberg, Heineken, Pilsner Urquell (sp?), Stella, Leffe, or some Canadian lager. Good options here. On the "Canadian" side of things, if you want to go cheap domestic, I'm a fan of Moosehead when I'm feeling like saving some money. If you want to try a common(ish) American beer here that you might actually have a chance of finding, Blue Moon is supremely excellent as a Patio Beer.
- springtime and you're actually thirsty? try some German white beer, like Erdinger. Interesting aftertaste. Again, agreed. The Germans do some great lagers as well, worth their weight in gold on a marathon patio drinking sesh.
- eating spicy food? Any Asian beer can do the job: Kingfisher, Tiger, Sapporo, etc. Well, Sapporo is great any time, not just with spicy food. Super-underrated beer, IMO. Kingfisher is great with Indian food, obviously, but not as good as some other Asian beers when eating SE Asian food. Tiger is a good "anytime in the summer" beer, too. After living in SE Asia, I can also recommend Archa (best beer out of Thailand, IMO, though most Thai beers are way too "rice-y" for my tastes), and San Miguel out of the Philippines is pretty good here as well. That's what I drink here in Indonesia. Never drink Indonesian beers. Ever.

You can add Smithwicks to the list of "most LCBOs will carry it and it's good" in this category, too. I like a Grolsch here as well, but I know it's a bitter lager, really skunky, so YMMV.

Note that this stuff is an acquired taste, so hold off on these or practice at home on your own first. As I'm not a massive fan of the triple-hopped beers that seem to be the trend-du-jour, I'll also recommend a lot of the UniBroue catalogue here... Fin Du Monde is your go-to beer here, and Trois Pistoles is your dark variant.

Agreed with all the bolded! I meant to add Smithwicks to the list but couldn't recall the name. McEwans is another great one I haven't been able to find it anywhere in years. Maybe it doesn't exist anymore?Great list, I added some commentary/alternatives in bold depending on tastes.
I thought San Miguel was Spanish?
I played the first two
Hated the first one
Loved the second one
I've been a bioware junkie since baulder's gate. Big fan of Mass Effect and Dragon Age
Well, the Philippines used to be Spanish too, so I guess that's sort of right?
Definitely a Filipino beer, though.
I hate night time in the country.
Jupiter ascending. Looks pretty good.
Pretty much any film that comes out in late January/February is awful. I'd say 85% of the time.
These are the "filler" months in Hollywood. Need to produce a bunch of schlock to fill in the open space after Oscar season.
What's the plot basically about?
I'm considering getting one of them, should I just start from 1 and work my way up?

You might as well start with the first one
The first one is more RPG while the second one is much more action
I love RPGs but I hated how clunky the first one felt but a lot of people really, really liked it
The plot is basically fighting super aliens and getting regular aliens on your side
Why do you sit so much? Work?
Well then, I think we've identified which part of sitting down you can cut down on
