Behind you, look out
I personally do not care about what other people do in their bedrooms. I want to know why this was all leaked?

This is how it should have went down.

Fired*

"Cbc has ended its relationship with Q's host Jiam Ghomeshi. We wish him luck with his future endeavors."

Ghomeshi launches suit*

"Cbc will not comment on the Ghomeshi case at this time."

The only other way is if what he got fired for was a legitimate reason.

A fourth woman, who worked at CBC, said Ghomeshi told her at work: “I want to hate f--- you.”

If he was making more comments like that and they were to people that did not welcome them, then he might deserve to be let go. But not dragged through the mud.

I'm not going to comment on that guy since I've never heard of him until a few days ago. Besides we all have a few kinks in our sex lives and I don't see why a guy would get fired for that.

I also do not ave access to TekSaavy otherwise I'd be on that faster than [something fast on something else] :O

Yes, that would be within CBC's right since it would be sexual harassment in the workplace.

I think there is a difference when your employment is that of a public figure. If your reputation is damaged, it damages the ability for you to do your job (get ratings). If CBC feels that he can no longer draw because of the accusations (false or not) why should they be required to keep him on staff. Not sure how his contract is written, but they certainly would include some sort of termination clauses though I would imagine in a case like this, there would be some form of compensation for an early termination unless the accusations are proven true.
In the NFL case, I can see that, and I can see why the team of the NFL are making their decision for cynical business reasons. I'm more disappointed at the public's outrage and demands that the guy be suspended even though no court has deemed him guilty.

In Ghomeshi's case, if the CBC is only worried about ratings and public backlash they could have offered to re-assign him to a non public facing job.

fair enough, however, non public facing roles don't likely get the pay level he gets. If he's no longer capable of providing the service, why pay him like he is?

If that happened it should have been reported and there should be a record of it somewhere.

This whole anonymous stuff bothers me. It's basically free reign to make any and all claims about someone that can't be refuted because nobody knows who said it.

I don't even like Ghomeshi. But if you want to burn down someone's reputation publicly, you had better file criminal charges, or have at least some kind of record of substance to prove it occurred.

Forrest Gump
Twilight series
Star Wars ep. I: The Phantom Menace

Good Charlotte
Justin Bieber
My Chemical Romance

Family Guy (YEAH I SAID IT.)
Judge Judy
Aaaand... I'll say Doctor Who. Not for the show itself, but for its obnoxious fans.

No real hate for video games. Even the ones that openly suck (like that awful, awful Survivor video game) gave me hours of entertainment, so it's hard to bash anything. Although, I will say that despite amazing reviews, I could never get into any of the Fallout games or The Witcher 2.

I hate the game Injustice because it had so much potential but was ruined with the infinite amount of combos and controls.

"All Controversy, All The Time"

1) Oasis were the worst of the Brit Invasion bands of the 90's. We've discussed my hatred of Oasis somewhere on HFBoards before, but needless to say: overrated hacks, the lot of them.

2) Not to be all hipster-y about it, but I did actually get into the Ricky Gervais "Office" first (was recommended to me by a friend back in the old days), and just could never get over the fact that I thought the American one was bad. I also very much dislike Rainn Wilson for some reason. Probably irrational. It's odd, because I'm a big Steve Carrel fan, and also a Craig Robinson fan... but the show touches a bad nerve for me, for some reason. Also interesting: I haven't been a huge fan of a lot of Gervais' stuff post-Office. It's just... ok. "Extras" had it's moments, but fell flat far more than it hit.

3) Bleh. Most overrated fighting game since Primal Rage (aw yeah, I'm dating myself with that reference for sure). If SSB didn't have Nintendo Licenced characters in it, it'd be long forgotten about. Not a fan of the actual gameplay.

Agreed on Oasis and somewhat agreed on The Office (it has it's moments but they are rare)

But SSB I cannot agree. That game is so much fun it's insane. I'm talking the N64 version.

Primal Rage was hot garbage though. I did not think I'd have to think about that game ever again. What's next? Clay Fighters?

Hate list...hmm...

Movies:
- new Star Wars (spisodes 1, 2, 3) and the "remastered" version of the old ones....way to ruin my childhood memories to make a few extra bucks, Lucas!
- American Pie series...adolescent boy humor is embarrassing
- anything with Channing Tatum...or any fake "feelings" movies

Music:
- any and all boy bands
- any rap or hip hop that all about screwing their hoes, or going on and on about the poooooooo-lice
- any and all young emo bands...haven't kept up with the music scene lately, but basically anyone not in KISS wearing extensive eye liner (really guys, bands did it in the 70s and 80s to have fun and look cool, not to look like a bunch of goth cutters)

Games:
- SimCity Societies, and SimCity online....way to kill the franchise

Books:
- Twillight and all the wannabe Twilights
- ditto to any teenage style distopian/half-assed romance novels
- Tommyknockers...King was a great writer from the 60s to early 90s, but that one was about 600 pages too long....the guy gets a case of writers' diarrhea way too often....only time it worked for him was The Stand (one of the best books ever)

Why all the Pearl Jam hate so far?

I'm asking for real, not complaining that I see it on numerous lists. I get that they were more my generation than the generation of some of the younger folks here, but didn't think they were outright hated.

I disliked Pearl Jam fairly strongly, but nowhere near approaching the hate levels of Alice in Chains-Soundgarden (basically one band in my mind) and the worst of all Red Hot Chilli Peppers. In pretty much every case I would lay a large part of the blame on the insufferable vocal qualities, particularly AiC/SG who for me are similar to Oasis in that horribly annoying nasal quality. Interestingly enough Bill Corgan's voice was fine for me, though he could objectively also be accused of whininess.
