I don't know why, but I laughed really hard after watching it the first time.

No other news channel to watch.

The English version of Al Jazeera is really good to get a non-Western perspective of some issues, and the quality of their reporting is far more professional than at any of the standard North American 24-hour news channels. They are state-owned by Qatar though, so they're not completely without bias, but are far less biased than CNN is, to be sure.

Amazing how easily you can still feel the falling effect (heart going up in your throat) just from watching a video game or movie fall.

Scared the bejezus out of me 12 years ago playing Asheron's Call II when my character jumped off a cliff, and for a few seconds (simply from the camera angle and the way the character falls) it felt like I was falling into the basement.

Betcha anything some dopey kid tried doing that stunt in real life.

love mirror's edge. prequel being made by dice!

Probably one of the most immersive experiences I've ever had playing a video game.

Combat was ****, but what can you do? It was fantastic in all the parts that really counted, namely art direction and movement mechanics.

I suspect the next one will be better.

Jaysus... have you ever actually played that thing? I remember spending my hard-earned allowance renting it from the local Videoflicks.

Calling it a "game" is an insult to actual games.

It's more just the actual novelty of having a copy. I've never played it either, never even seen one IRL. Plus, Shaq is pretty much my favourite Basket ball player of all time, only behind Kobe.

I am a collector.

Make sure to play a copy of Kazaam on DVD in the background for the full effect. Not to be missed. Shaq at his most emotive and provocative.

Shaqfu.com's mission is to LIBERATE all the copies of Shaq-Fu from existence by buying them from anyone who owns the game, including local console retailers, Ebay merchants, normal citizens, and the like. Here are reasons why this is important:

Reasons for LIBERATING:

  • You prevent other generations from feeling the corruption of this game and its evil.
  • You clear up the enormous copies of Shaq-Fu lying on the shelves in used console game stores. By doing so, you remove it from public display so that people will not be reminded of the game's existence.
  • Purchasing many copies of the game shifts the demand schedule, consequently raising the price. Even though it costs you more money, it reduces the incentive for a non-liberator to buy the game; a worthwhile sacrifice.
  • By getting it from another person, you remove the burden and embarrassment they feel.

The reasons go on and on. Shaq-Fu must be eliminated for everyone to feel at peace. This website discusses the methods of how to obtain copies and how to dispose and/or make use of the copies obtained. It also serves as the front line for the Shaq-Fu Liberation Front. Here, you will be able to obtain current numbers of Shaq-Fu copies liberated, as well as membership for the Shaq-Fu Liberation Front. With your help, we may be able to obtain a Shaq-Fu-free world for our childen to grow up in. Join today and help our cause!

I have no horse in this race. Being among the poor folk meant I missed out on a lot of early SNES stuff. That this exists is pretty funny though.

Those guys must have had a stroke when they heard of the Shaq Fu 2 Kickstarter.

They have a Declaration of Opposition!

http://www.shaqfu.com/declarationofopposition.php

We of the Shaq Fu Liberation Front and our backers are aware of the intentions of Big Deez Productions to produce and develop a sequel to the Electronic Arts game, Shaq Fu. We issue the following statement as a response:

This act of aggression will not stand. We of the Shaq Fu Liberation Front take all credible threats very seriously. The possible funding and completion of such a game would be a grave error on the parts of funders, developers, and Shaquille O'Neal himself. The development of a sequel to Shaq Fu is an affront to human dignity and represents a threat to peace and stability all over the world.

The Shaq Fu Liberation Front must react to this outrage. Please trust that we will take all measures to prevent further damage to the public at large from Shaquille O'Neal related video games. We have a duty to preserve a world free of Shaquille O'Neal in video games...

So talking about abominations of entertainment... Sharknado 2 aired tonight.

From what I've gathered, it seems at least as terrible as the first one.

I hope you're squatting and deadlifting, bro. I've lost almost 20 lbs the last 3 months with the Stronglifts program. I'm much tighter, too. I squat now 205lbs 5x5, and I started at 45lbs. I now weigh 168 and am 5'10. Feels good. Got another ~5-10 lbs to go!

....so, copies of Shaqfu should become very rare, and thus very valuable, soon? And those guys will be holding most of the copies?

Clever.

Still based on supply and demand. I have Snes and collect games but I look for final fantasy 3 or contra, or megaman x, shaq fu looks like bawls. Especially compared to fighters like street fighter, mortal combat etc.

I've still got rolls that I'm trying to get rid of. Hopefully soon my weight will rise, but only due to muscle mass. I'm sure I have an extra few lbs left of useless fat. I cut out wheat 2-3 weeks ago, too. My skin cleared up, I lost 3 sizes on my waist, and I got a few bonus lbs on all my lifts.

PS. Thanks for the good words !

I can't risk doing squats and dead lifts because I ****ed my back
Spine surgery for CES put an end to that... Don't want to put any stress on the lower back

Sounds wicked what you left, I'm totally jealous... I wish I could

Damn man. Sorry to hear. I feel like a dink now.

Maybe you could do a hybrid squat / farmer carry. I don't think that does too much back stress... But I wouldn't wanna break your back!

Count me among those jealous because I can't do any significant weight training.

Heart defect means no heavy weights for me. Everything else is fair game, but I want to live until I'm 70, so weight lifting is pretty much out of the question.
