If anyone is curious, I find it interesting to calculate how many calories a day you can eat to stay at your current weight.
1) Calculate your daily maintenance calories (Click Here)
2) If you want to stay the same weight, that's how much you can eat. If you want to lose one pound a week, you would subtract 500 from your daily maintenance. If you want to lose two pounds a week, you would subtract 1000 from your daily maintenance. Same thing goes for gaining weight except the opposite. NEVER EVER EVER go below 1000 under your maintenance per day unless you talk to a doctor. Why? Because your body's metabolism will go into shock and into "starvation" mode because you are eating so much less than it's used to. Then it gets used to this low amount and you will "plateau" in weight loss.
3) Exercise is where you get your bonus. If you really want to lose more than 2 lbs per week, you get that through exercise.
I really don't know why I wrote that out. I don't know if anyone will use that or care. Oh well.
This girl I was dating 2 months ago, just started texting me again. Hmmm mm, on the fence about what I should do.
Yeah, I was surprised for myselfI absolutely will. I'm pretty ill-informed when it comes to health and fitness and the more knowledge I can to improve my overall health, the better.
EDIT: Jesus. I didn't expect my maintenance to be as high as it is. 2999 calories a day.
Yeah, I was surprised for myself
So if you eat 2000 a day, you should theoretically lose 2lbs a week. Exercising can add to that.
1 Pound = ~3500 Calories
So:
Daily Deficit of 1000 Calories per day = 7000 Calories per Week
Daily Exercise of 200 Calories burned = 1400 Calories per Week
If that's what you did, that would be about ~2.5lbs per week.
