Post-Game Talk: Sens @ Leafs | Be like a tree, and let the dead leafs drop. Let the winds of change carry you towards the light - Rumi

That breakaway looked find of funny. I don't know how long Giroux was on the ice beforehand but he was moving really slowly, the guy behind him was moving twice as fast.

Next year I would sign him to a 1 year 2.5 million dollar contract. The wheels might be coming off.
He was at the end of a PK shift, I thought

I will never forgive Patrick Sieloff.
He was a bastard.

It still feels surreal MacArthur even came back for that playoff run. He hadn't played a game in almost 2 years, then he comes back out of nowhere, plays the entire playoffs, and actually played really well too including scoring a massive series winner in OT against Boston. Then he never plays another game.

Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux
Perron-Cozens-Batherson
Zetterlund-Pinto-Amadio
Cousins-Greig-McEwen
I don't think Green will break up the 3rd line unless they start playing bad. I think the 4th line will be Cousins-Gaudette-Zetterlund when Cousins returns. That 4th line could start producing when Cousins comes back, he's a gamer.

Who had Amadio and Perron as key performers down the stretch on their Bingo cards?
Did I predict it? No. Am I surprised? No. They have experience playing meaningful games in the home stretch. I also think they have the perfect linemates to get the most out of them both. I think we can now see what SS saw when he signed them. Amadio has been solid defensively all year, but now is also producing. Perron off to a slow start, but his board play is starting to pay off. Good thing they're both going as secondary/D scoring has been the difference maker lately.

Only if Drake continues to play with physicality and hustle. He tends to be inconsistent. I want him to succeed; I am not confident he will due to his past.
He has never experienced the playoffs. I'd be surprised if he drops off, especially with the way his 2 linemates play.

Columbus has a boatload of space for him and has already progressed at building a good core. They have Monahan returning for 4 more years and the pieces to deal to get better at G and D should they want to go that route. I see the Jackets as a bidder (and maybe a trade partner so they can offer 8yrs)

Not a big UFA pool either for forwards this year. If the Leafs lose Marner they will be hard pressed to replace him.

As terrible (bwahahahaha!) as that would be for them, it could prove to be the motivation for the organization to build a better team. That'll be tough with no picks and a depleted minor system.

As important as skill is, size and playing big will never be taken out of the equation for winning in the playoffs.

We went pretty far on skill in 2017 with Karlsson having one of the best playoff runs in modern history, but we were also playing a suffocating system where everybody bought in. We still had issues with physicality that lead to them dressing Chris Neil, who was no longer an NHL player.

This feels a bit like 2017 in that we have everybody buying into a tight system. I don't know what kind of shelf life Green will have as coach, because sometimes coaches like that don't last long, but it is starting to feel like a special year.

I guess the difference between this and 2017 is that it didn't feel special and we weren't even a shoe in for playoffs until almost the last game of the season. It's only during the playoffs when Karlsson elevated his game that it started feeling like something could happen.
EK, MacArthur, Turris, Brassard, Methot...all played key roles in that run. Can't wait to feel that excitement again.

He's just showing the Montreal Canadiens the rispek they deserve

He was so bad that it feels he was a double agent all that time. He probably has free Molson beer for life to go with his pizzas

Lets not forget our best forward in Bobby Ryan.

He was absolutely magic, he was all over the ice, he was physical and was back checking like crazy. He scored some huge goals and made some really huge plays. It was probably the first time he was healthy in a while and gave his all, knowing his career was already slowing down with all the injuries, etc.

If only Mark Stone would have played closer to his current level, we’d have a Cup right now

If only we had scored the goal against Pittsburgh to end the series!

Also he'll have a better linemate when Cousins returns. Just wish Gaudette would be sent down but that won't happen, Green just loves Gaudette.
We could keep Gaudette as the 13th forward; yes I would like a better F than Guadette but "better" would cost a lot more.
