Chychryn pointing at the crowd with the goal in game 2 of the preseason is the most Ottawa Senators thing Ive seen in a while, lol

He knows he will get injured during the season so may not be back to play in Toronto.

Cowan was the best player on the ice and created tons of offensive chances.

Thought Gregor and Robertson both had strong games.

Never seen Gregor play before but his speed could really be useful on the 4th line.

Klingberg had a rough game but made something happen at the end. He will make you go crazy with some defensive miscues but then also make some good things happen offensively.

Overall, the team seemed disjointed. Many broken plays and awful puck decisions from quite a few players.

Cowan was great. Gregor was noticeable. I thought McCabe and Klingberg were really good together.

He can have his pre-season cup, it has to suck not being in the playoff hunt by game 25

We really must be watching a completely different player if you don't think his skating is smooth and agile. He isn't Cale Makar here but it's definitely above average. Made a few nice plays at both ends of the ice due to his skating.

People already hate Klingberg to the point where they've made up their made for some reason. It won't matter. Nothing about his game tonight suggests he was an issue... but people just want him to be one.
I’m with you. He’ll be a good player here, no reason to think he won’t. He was great in Dallas.

Probably has some family/friends in the crowd

That not fleet of foot comment was a bit of a head scratcher. Klingberg is what a big wingspan defenseman with a smooth stride looks like the textbook example. Cover a lot of ice with smooth easy strides, save energy to log massive minutes, easy laterals and reversals. The puck rolled on him a few times and his passing angles and positioning at the blueline was a little wonky tonight but his mobility was terrific.

Please keep in mind it's preseason and the vets are working on getting into shape. But if we see the overpassing from our first line during the season I'll be pissed. Bertuzzi looked good on that line. Cowan was our best player by far and no one else even came close. Robertson has to stop falling all over the ice. Klingberg will be the most polarizing Leaf since Jake Gardner. I'm afraid Giordano is done. Niemala didn't impress at all. Woll looked shakier than at any other time last season. I thought Gregor showed good speed and hustle, could be a good 4 liner if we choose. These games are meaningless for the vets, but they are telling for those trying to make the team. Based on what I saw, none of the players on the bubble has earned a spot on the team.

As long as no one get's hurt - it's a win.

Let's not overreact to a preseason loss with the players giving 20% effort and every player playing their first preseason game of the season.

I don't hate Klingberg, I'm excited to see what all the new additions bring even if I don't agree with all of them and I'm all aboard more offence from the D. I didn't think he was an issue tonight but he needs to do more than just not be an issue. I didn't see much about his game that was compelling.

Matthews with nothing in an unpaid hockey game...shocking. I'm sure he'll look like the highest paid player in the league from games 31-72.

Cowan was a nice surprise.

Who cares about the term, they bury him. Nobody expects 3 years.

Just for argument's sake... I would have preferred this (it is cap-compliant by like 50k).

Reaves' contract is a little annoying for term and price (200k can't be buried).

Bertuzzi - Matthews - Marner
Knies - Tavares - Jarnkrok
Robertson - Nylander - Domi
Holmberg - Kampf - Lafferty

Rielly - Brodie
McCabe - Liljegren
Gio - Klingberg
Timmins

Samsanov
Woll
