GDT: Sens @ Leafs - 7pm - HNIC

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Finally the lineup I've been waiting for.
Spread the stars around. Nylander will do well feasting on third lines and he has enough chemistry with Jarnkrok.
Matthews has played well with Domi in the past and Domi is playing well now.
Marner Tavares and McMann have chemistry as well.

Anxious for this one.

Ottawa has quietly made very good moves and are a team that is on the rise. They are being built properly and have an enviable development curve ahead of them.

They are hungry and have a lot to play for and they always play us hard.
Ottawa is on a streak, but the idea that they are being built "properly" is a bit much. They have completely unreliable goaltending pretty poor defensive structure overall, and mediocre coaching. The only reason they are even in a wild card spot is because the other eastern bubble teams are making no progress (looking at you Detroit). I hope Ottawa hangs on and finishes in a wild card spot, but I think they are just as likely to lose 5 in a row and fall out.

I prefer them spread out too. It forces Matthew$ to do some of his own work, maximizes Tavares by having a creative guy like Marner with him, and shelters Nylander into matchups that he can hopefully take advantage of without his lack of defense costing us.

Not a fan of Robertson as a fourth liner though.. his abilities don't really suit that at all.

I thought scratching Kampf would mean Laughton to the 4th where he is probably a better fit. An all Swedish 3rd might actually be a good line.

I am happy to see something.. anything.

Game hasn't even started and this place is absolutely toxic.

I can't imagine wanting to keep doing (watching) something that made me completely miserable.

So instead of bitching about the team on a hockey board.....you bitch about the posters on a hockey board

Seems you should take your own advice and not watch the hockey board

Bout time AM and Marner got broken up.

All those games except the Vegas game they had a lead of at least one goal. In some cases 3 goals

They are terrible at protecting leads. They stop pressing and playing their game
As usual...they turn into a dump and don't chase team when things get a little more serious.

But now they're straight up collapsing in their own zone like we're short-handed on 5v5. Just a matter of time with that gameplan. They're getting rope a doped in their own zone.

IMO this first line is perfect. This maximizes what Domi can bring while spreading out some of the talent. Using your best LW, C and RW on the same line only makes sense if they’re completely dominant and obviously that hasn’t been the case.

I’d have a different middle 6 tho.

Knies-Matthews-Domi
Nylander-Laughton-Marner
McMann-Tavares-Jarnkrok

This serves a few purposes. Hopefully gets Laughton some confidence after a rough start by putting him in a good spot to produce. I think each line should be solid enough defensively that all can be thrown out there without worry. I like the 3rd line identity of a hard working cycling line with McMann bringing speed that is needed on a Tavares line.

Overall tho I’m happy Berube is finally experimenting a bit. I don’t know why it’s taken so long. You can always go back to the usual lines at any time, it’s not like Matthews and Marner will forget how to play together. They need to experiment with spreading it out because their normal 3rd line will get destroyed by the 3rd lines of the Florida teams.

Yea, but I bet the AM and MM will be put back together by the 2nd period. Berube is basically Keefe 2.0. But at least he is scratching that useless plug Kampf. We do have too many useless plugs in the bottom 6.
If that’s the case why is that? Are the players running the team? Shanny is tellling them? It’s been obvious for a while the split needs to be done yet it never happens for a significant time. You are right they might be back by the second period.

Nylander and Marner together are awful, zero chemistry.
