GDT: Sens @ Leafs - 7pm - HNIC

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Out worked, out shot, out chanced. Lucky to be tied 0-0 after 1 period.
It's the same story every game. I don't remember the last time we clearly outplayed a team in the playoffs. Honestly, I'm not sure I remember the last time we clearly outplayed anyone.

It's honestly puzzling because no matter what anyone thinks of the team it shouldn't be this bad.

They were okay other than the marner mccabe miscue they made a few nice plays
Going by natural stat trick (unsure how accurate their game time stats are).

Marner /Tavares line:
- scoring chances for 1, 3 against
high danger scoring chances for 0, against 2
Expected goals for .07, against 0.35.

It was one shift they were hemmed in that probably gave that result my eyes tell me they weren’t that bad screw stats my friend

He will be lucky to be in the league in 2-3 years. Absolutely terrible. People keep defending him. He’s a plug. Good bye 1st rounder
I'm far more upset at the pro scouting staff and management than Laughton. Who did the team think they were getting? Laughton is a career 3rd liner who doesn't excel on either side of the puck and has always profiled better on the wing. After watching the Leafs try and fail with so many different third line center options (Kerfoot, Jarnkrok, Holmberg, Kampf, and Domi) I'm beginning to wonder if they even know what they are looking for.

Hockey night in Canada panel highlighted that Knies, Matthews, Domi looked great that period. They executed a few set plays (the same set plays Marner/Matthews do). Which is what ive pointed out often jn the past regarding Marner setups. When Marner does set up Matthews, they often are through set plays. He doesn't set up players very often spontaneously, by using "his amazing hockey smarts".

Should've kept Timmins to balance out ability to make a pass and skate with puck. I value Timmins more than Benoit.
Benoit seems very hesitant to me. Last year he was so aggressive trying to kill plays and this year for whatever reason I have noticed him backing off on entries or thinking a split second before trying to cut off a play. It's a small thing, but something that makes a big difference for a guy who doesn't add anything with the puck.

For a dump and chase team it feels like they still manage to play the puck back to the point when they should recycle it deep and they send it deep when there's plays to be made cross ice or into the soft spaces in the high slot. Like mcmann winning that battle behind the net in the last minute there and then sending it softly to nobody at the half boards
