The Sens are

willie-nelson.gif

In another inter-Conference matchup tonight against a flagging Flyers team that gives us a chance to hang on to WC1 and open up more space in the log-jam that is the East.

Tonight sees Leevi called up to backstop Forsberg after Ullmark saved our bacon last night with his giant...

... Willie Nelson once said that "I don't think too far ahead", and I'm thinking no further than tonight.

A win tonight, and it doesn't matter what anyone else does - we'll still end the night in a playoff spot.

Lets throw the Flyers season away and gain some separation on everyone else

Gonna need a strong game from Forsberg I think. Last night was really physical and I’m sure they’re all exhausted.

Probably not gonna be the prettiest game but hopefully they can get the 2 points.

I wonder what team we will get tonight. We got pummeled last night but it wasn’t a “did nothing”kind punmeling. Lots of chasing.

I want all the marbles. Om nom nom nom.

Ulmark gets a break, Leevi on the bench?
yeah looking into it that appears to be the case as tsn1200 sent out a follow up tweet saying Leevi coming up to backup

hasnt been 100% confirmed yet, green is expected to do a presser before the game

Welcome back to Ottawa Merilanen, he was the winning goalie when he was sent down and now I hope he gets another start, although it's not likely with Forsberg needing starts as the official backup goaltender. If Forsberg starts, I hope he sees this as an opportunity with his contract expiring and this run being a showcase for it and play his very best.

Ottawa should play with more desperation tonight, keeping up the tempo and not miss out on another 2-points ripe for picking.

Batherson and Pinto are due some goals.

Go Sens GO!

I'm OK with Forsberg starting - if he falters, it's good to know Leevi is there waiting.

Definitely, we should play with more desperation tonight. Leave it all out there, knowing we play a depleted Bruins team in a couple of days.

My only other want is to start seeing Zetts climb out of the 4th line - he looked great in limited minutes last night.

2nd period was bad but it wasn’t like the Wings were dominating us, we outplayed them in the first and the 3rd. They lost, we won

Win tonight guaranteed.

I understand the Wings game - huge chnage and to me more of an emotional let down from the Sens with the big trade, not that they weren’t ready but sometimes losing a guy like Norris doesn’t hit you for a couple of days, the Wings came out flying with no distractions and the Sens were just off a bit from the big trades.

They’ll be better tonight

Don't think the boys were that physical tbh.

They played conservatively enough that they could still put up a great performance tonight with ease against a sinking non playoff team.

Put Zetterlund up and reap the benefits of fresh young blood looking to prove himself. Put Leevi or Forsberg in net to prove themselves.

Need to shift Amadio down to the 4th line

Zetterlund-Cozens-Batherson
Grieg-Pinto-Perron

That's as solid a middle 6 as we will be getting.
Agree with Moving Zetterland and Perron
I wouldn't mind Perron - Pinto - Amadio
and Greig at C on the 4th line moving Green's pet Gaudette to 13th forward or to Belleville in favor of MacEwen

If Green can't see a roster without Gaudette on it I'd keep Greig up as you have outlined

If the Sens can manage a win tonight & give themselves some breathing room, I wonder how long before they give Halliday some games in Ott? Ott could use a legitimate C & Highmore could use some press box time.

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Giroux
Perron - Cozens - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Amadio
Zetterlund - Halliday - Gaudette

I was thinking that too until I saw this:

Green LOVESSSS Greig. That's 2nd best TOI among any forward territory last 2 games. He won't be getting that type of ice-time on 4th line. But rather with Pinto. Amadio more likely to shift down just off of that.

You might as well just drive Zetterlund to the airport yourself if you want to keep burying him down the lineup with trash players like that.

Hopefully Green will push him up into the top-6 tonight considering how little he's played since last Thursday and will surely be fresher than most.

Greig has been very good over that spell. I like him as a player and he is top 9 caliber. I would also like a 4th line with some jam that can play a regular shift in a 4 line rotation.
