I doubt we'll see anything close to that Rangers game in December, 5/7 games are on the weekends and the other two games are Habs (will be a big draw) and Nashville ( should be a big draw).

The power of the Nashville brand to be a draw in Ottawa. If someone in the Sens front office could empty out their garbage, put in a purchase-request for a pen and paper, fill out a purchase order, get it signed by Dorion, counter signed by Melnyck, have said pen and paper delivered they should begin to take notes on how Nashville runs things and seeks a small market team. (When done with pen and paper please return to Melnyck office and have them both recorded company assets)

Have they really? Looks like their attendance seems fine?

According to ESPN, the Habs have an average of 98.2% attendance so far this year. This means they have not been selling out every game. Still very good numbers compared to others teams, but not great for a team that usually sells out every year with a waiting list for season seats.

I am surprised as Habs fans wouldn’t really care about boycotting Melnyk. However, The Habs have been having trouble selling out the Bell Centre this year.

Lots of empty seats clearly visible on Tuesday night, even though the attendance number seemed at or near a sellout.

Weird that attendance is down when the team is playing an extremely archaic unsuccessful boring style and getting caved in most nights with what is clearly an underfunded and outmatched roster, furthermore said roster is projected to be a bottom 3-5 team shortly after trading their franchise player in his prime just 1 year removed from a near championship run, for solely financial reasons, add in an owner seemingly hated by the majority of fans who routinely boasts about robbing said fans and literally not investing a dime into his team and then bungling a major project that will affect this city as we know it and the team more so...just doesn't make any sense!

It's why I find the media going nuts about Ottawa's attendance comical. It's just because it's an easy story that no one outside Ottawa will care about but it's incredible lazy and ignorant reporting.

All over North America attendance numbers are going down, yet we only hear about Ottawa.

Ottawa has a million things going against it (that other teams don't), and they still pull respectable numbers, the outside media should be commending this cities fans instead of crapping all over them.

Arena was 1/3rd empty last night for a Montreal game. I don't care how many tickets were sold or given away, the barn was empty and quiet

Ottawa's attendance is in the crapper, so I am not making excuses for it, we all know Melnyk is the biggest issue at the moment, BUT,

Florida was unbelievable last night, there couldn't have been 2500 people. In Philly the empty seats are pretty noticeable which is surprising.

It was the worst Sens-Habs game I have attended in person. If anything, it may have exposed how many actual Habs fans there are in some ways. All the cheap seats were empty by the hundreds . If there were so many Habs fans and Leafs fans here, why are the games not selling out? They had 2 for 1 deals too. Even for San Jose. And yet, if there were 15,800, I would say easily 8000 were Habs fans, I think a little more.

But Montreal is going through something funny too, maybe it is a lack of hope because they are doing fine, and actually were entertaining to watch. But Habs fans are not convinced. Apathy sets in there as well a little bit, and I think it has to do with ownership as well.

I am teetering on the apathy fence. I have tried to be somewhat optimistic but ........ losing interest.

This is the result of years of Black Friday cheap (and huge) tvs and high def and 4k available at home for the average consumer. Makes it too damned easy to stay at home.
