NHL: we've know this since the beginning but we didn't want the sale of the Team being affected by the fine
f*** it what are they gonna do take away our first round pick?I sincerely doubt it.
Much like the Pinto saga we'll be left in the dark but for the conclusion.
National Parlay Night at the CTC
I mean I don't really care about hearsay and workplace drama but I do want a real clear explanation of what transpired to result in this team paying such a hefty price. The fans of this team are owed the truth of how and why it came to be we're losing a first round pick, which is among the heftiest punishments the league has ever given out.I imagine once Pierre is fired there'll be all sorts of stories that come out about his tenure. We'll find out the details, for this and many other things.
League sources would be hesitant to talk about an actively employed executive. Once he's gone? Floodgates will open.
Personally, I'm ready to just move on. New day new era.
As much as I put the blame on PD for this, it's still overkill on the NHL's part. Way to punish a new owner and the fanbase for the sins of a clown.
You're punishing the fans. Pro sports is entertainment paid for by fans. Taking away a first rd pick for a GMs incompetence is way overkill. I know other teams got screwed by this and there should be some sort of punishment but this is overkill 100%.As much as I put the blame on PD for this, it's still overkill on the NHL's part. The franchise got off lightly. And the same family owns them.Where are the guilty parties in the Chicago incident currently working?

Come to think of it, why is the franchise being punished if this was the work of 1 person? The Coyotes, as an organization, made the decision to test prospects outside of the combine. It wasn't just the GM testing, it was multiple personnel. If Dorion was the only person involved in this mess, shouldn't he be the one punished individually? Fine him, fire him, fine and fire him...seems like there's lots of ways this could have unfolded. You're punishing the fans. Pro sports is entertainment paid for by fans. Yes but we have to respect the fact that Vegas and Anaheim got screwed by this. So punishment is warranted, to what degree I don't know.Come to think of it, why is the franchise being punished if this was the work of 1 person? Really unfortunate for Vegas. They never recovered from this blow.Yes but we have to respect the fact that Vegas and Anaheim got screwed by this. So punishment is warranted, to what degree I don't know.
The same Melnyk defenders moved onto to defending Dorion.
Who are they gonna defend now?
DJ Smith until he's fired?
Then what?
What's the next failing thing would they defend?
......
The LRT?
The trade arguably gave the sens a competitive advantage, assuming VGK wouldn't have made the trade had they known the NTC was still valid.Come to think of it, why is the franchise being punished if this was the work of 1 person? Well if Dorion is out we probably won't draft the player ranked 888th with our 1st rd pick. So we might want to keep one or two of them. Can we just give all three picks now to cover any future or past transgressions the league may discover related to Dorion?
Vegas were f***ed with having to keep Dadonov with his cap that season. The trade arguably gave the sens a competitive advantage, assuming VGK wouldn't have made the trade had they known the NTC was still valid.
That's the only thing I can think of.
Anaheim didn't get screwed really, they just weren't able to make a trade they shouldn't have been able to make anyways. I guess it wasted their time a bit.Yes but we have to respect the fact that Vegas and Anaheim got screwed by this. So punishment is warranted, to what degree I don't know.
Can we just give him to Vegas and give a 3rd to Anaheim and keep our firsts? Can we just get rid of Tyler Boucher instead?
It was a pertinent aspect of the trade call, and it was not announced when the trade went down. That is inherently assisting to VGK.There was no conspiracy. There was the Sens not doing the absolute bare minimum of providing correct or relevant documentation, and the Sens not providing correct information on a trade call.
