No 1st round pick in 2022.
No 1st round pick in 2023.
No 1st round pick in 2024, 2025 or 2026.

Contender? No. Playoffs? No. But a satisfactory .500 record this October!

Dorion is going to can Andlauer's ass.

LOL. I don't think this could actually happen.

I know we all dislike Dorion but let's try to be realistic. He's MUCH more likely to hire Paul BIssonnette as Director of Scouting then fire his ass in 4 months.

False equivalence. The Blackhawks didn't do anything that impacted competitive balance.
Not true, sweeping the accusation under the rug helped them competitively because they didn’t have to deal with the distraction.

They got the donuts? Excellent....
I'm dying to know if this + Pinto were disclosed during the process. If not, they did him incredibly dirty. I generally don't feel bad for billionaires, but cmon lmao.

That it took until after ownership was settled to rule on this is a black mark on the league. What has changed in two years to finally rule on this? It's not like new information is going to be available.

And the other issue is why the league was run in such a Mickey Mouse matter that this situation even arose? You have to take the word of another GM if there's an active NTC? That's insane.

Dorion should have just covered for a rapist instead.

League seems much more ok with that
The rapist was affiliated with one of the NHL's golden children franchises, so I'm surprised they didn't throw him a goddamn party on the way out.

For a rebuilding team far out of the playoffs, our upcoming prospects is going to be extremely problematic.

2020 was unbelievable. Team is already reaping the benefits, they are our best players already. Not really going to be any saving grace's coming from that group, they're already there
2021 - Boucher
2022 - 7th traded away and Kubalik + late future 1st to show for it
2023 - 12th - Chychrun
2024/25/26 - Lost to incompetence

I guess I'll toss my comments on the bonfire here.

NHL should absolutely want to inflict a punishment that ensures this type of situation doesn't happen again. Perhaps this punishment is exactly the correct one for the nature of the crime, however, to see the Hawks get wrist slapped for a systemic cover up of sexual assault is the final kick in the pills.

What was it, a $2M fine? I hope the Hawks can recover from that. Oh wait, they did. Bedard ensures they will cover that fine multiple times over.

I’m fine with a punishment but for the punishment to be so harsh and Chicago get nothing is what makes me mad

No accountability with the NHL

Sounds like Vegas pushed for this and made sure the league drew blood.

Slightly different dynamics at play although obviously the discrepancy in outcomes is despicable.
