I wonder if the new GM will blow it up and rebuild the Sens properly

Every player is getting paid but the team can't make the playoffs

About half a decade too late but this still the best day for the Sens in awhile, even if we lost a 1st today

Didn't he construct a pretty good team? Ottawa looks like a pretty great young team with lots of its guys locked up long term. Anyway, as a Canucks fan I hope they hire benning so Ottawa can experience what a truly poor gm is like.

DJ Smith is probably next. The Melnyk regime was probably the most incompetent in recent history. Dorion was gonna have to eat the sin of it probably no matter what. Like I'm not sure even Dadanov was all his fault. Good luck to him

Some good draft selections.
Signed some great contracts.
Certainly leaves the team in good shape for next guy.
More than can you can say about
Bergevin
Hextall
Fletcher
Treviling

New owner had some time since he took over and Dorion is not going to be his guy.
Smith will be next to go.

Constructing a good team on paper isn't enough when you're loyal to arguably the worst head coach in NHL history.

The world routinely makes you wonder how incompetent people manage to get themselves in leadership positions so often
It's the Peter Principle.

Or in this case, the Principe de Pierre.

Pierre was a very good director of scouting, was promoted to a higher position he struggled with. Happens all the time, especially in government.

1. Traded top 10 pick for Debrincat.
2. Traded Debrincat for late 1st +.
3. Formenton (likely) shunned from the league for his Hockey Canada scandal involvement.
4. Pinto suspended for gambling.
5. Stripped of 1st for Vegas/Dadonov debacle.
6. Dorion fired.
7. Chiarelli hired.

One for each reaction:
