Yeah, I was just going to comment something about him. Puck has been stolen from him way more than usual, he hasn't just gotten things going.

Barkov will have to fight through whatever is ailing him. It does not look like he is 100% this game. But in playoff hockey players have a way of ignoring pain. Not to say Finland cannot come back without his line, they have done it this tournament, but they will be much better if that line is dangerous.

Well let's put it this way. Who have you seen dominate from Finland today?

Laine had one really good shift in the 1st. When he got the puck in the neutral zone on his off wing and circled the Russian zone. He then did a give and go, and had a good chance to score.

Really showed on that shift what high end skill he has. His linemates who have been more quiet need to get him the puck more so he will be noticed more.

But yes, the entire Finnish team were pretty quiet that first period. 2 periods to go to correct this. Give Russia credit too.

It was to be expected Finns start poorly. Too bad for the goal but let's see how the 2nd period goes.

I was just reading an article on a Russian website, Mr. Fasel makes no bones about it, he's a fan of Team Russia and hopes the Russians win today. No concept of neutrality from the Swiss head of the IIHF.

Period 2 - the real game will begin now. Both offensive and defensive team skills vs mistakes will be the deciding factor. I hope Russia can stay patient and in control, or its game over.

Russia has some serious talent on that team also. I think we forget to mention this too at times. They are playing very well right now. Finland needs to up their game to tie this up.

Apparently none were looking so sour as Mr. Fasel and fellow high IIHF officials when Finland went to ruin the home victory celebrations in 2014 WJC in Sweden.
