Canada's depth is too much. Will be a close game though.

McDavid will shine and be ready to take on the Russians for Gold.

Would have preferred a U.S. v Canada final. put a 1/2 final is half the fun.

Canada v Finland final.

Canada v Finland final.

Why?

Americans don't care.

A final in Russia vs Russia. Is the ultimate Hockey fairy tale.

26.

One more win and Canada ties Russia, if i'm not mistaken.

Just adds to the history of the game. As evidenced last year, Canada-Russia thread just adds something no other rivalry in our sport has.

The US deserved to win the QF against the Czechs, but this is as close as you get to an easy win in the SF. The US lineup lacks the players to be competitive.

I'm an optimist by nature but I don't see the U.S. pulling this one out...haha.

Miracles can happen though! Kinkaid stands on his head! Auston Matthews does the unthinkable!

I think the U.S has a decent shot with a bounce here or there, they will play Canada hard and a rebound or two might make it close.

Matthews is a great player, I see modano in him with maybe the ability to be better, what do you see?

I'm going to be devastated if we lose to the any team from this point out, but if the US beats us, then goes on to win the Gold medal game, that would be pretty damn cool.

Hoping for a Canada win and a clean game!

I don't think he's quite as dynamic as Modano who IMO was one of the most talented players of all-time. Very few could skate and shoot like he could. To me, Matthews reminds me of a better skating Tavares and I think that's the kind of impact he'll have at the NHL level. As for the game, I really do think that Canada is a heavy favorite. They will really have to sleep walk to lose this one. That's not a knock on the U.S. team, but the talent disparity is so huge.

If you compare the lineups it's nit close. Stranger things have happened in a one game loser go home. Clog up the defensive zone and hope for the best.

7-2 USA.

Canada is about to get Pearl Harbored.

Hendricks with 2 goals, Tyler Motte 2 goals, Austin Matthews 6 points..

I heard the coaching staff is having the team repeatedly watch Rocky 4 , Red Dawn, and Miracle over and over again...**** just got real Nucks!

My instinct tells me that this won't be pretty. The U.S. is outmatched at every position. Prove me wrong!

If that's what it would take to get more American 1st. team players in on the WHC vibe and accept invites in the future, then I wouldn't mind that outcome. sure, it would sting for a day, but I'd get over it...

But I doubt it would change anything really. USAH is thrilled to compete for medals with NHL rookies and scrubs augmented with NCAA players.

I heard we asked Brandan Bochenski to play this year and he told us "no thanks, would rather play for Kazakhstan."

4-1 Canada and a bigger TV Rating in Canada than all of the useless crap low quality anti-hockey nhl playoff games!
