Canada and Sweden.

EDIT: Although, it is tough to beat the same team (the top four, I mean) twice in a tournament...

My mind: Canada vs Sweden
My heart: Canada vs Russia (I like watching traditional rivalries)

Well i have never get that hype on Canada sure they will go to the final (hope not) but i'm sure sweden or russia can beat em.

Every time is all the same... its time to go out there and be respectless against the canadians hit em hard and i really mean hard should be so there is allmoste "dirty"

Well if Sweden can fix ther defens the russians shouldent be a problem... and if so + the goalie step up im sure Sweden can go all the way

Canada beat Sweden 5-2 in pre-tournament while Sorokin only let in 1 goal and kept Russia in it so they won 2-1.

I'd rather face Sweden but both are pretty good teams and probably top 3 teams in the tournament.

Canada takes gold. Sweden gets silver and Slovakia bronze and I'm happy with that result.

Yeah, Canada favourites for gold though.

Pre-Tournaments mean nothing though, Canada beat Finland in the pre-tournament last year and then got stomped in the Semi Final.

This isn't the same Sweden team that we played in the pre-comp. They have good goaltending and a ton of confidence now.

Logically: Can vs Swe

Hopefully: Can vs Rus

pretty much this is what I want. Canada hasn't seen Russia in the finals for a while. On the other hand though, I rivalry could start brewing with Canada and Sweden because of the Olympics, but hopefully Russia.

Yep, mainly because Canada and Russia have chosen to scrap for the Bronze medal in the last two years and met in the Semi Final in 2012.

Last time Canada made the WJC final (2011) they played Russia, so hopefully that is a good omen for both to meet again (As It is highly unlikely Canada will lose to Slovakia).

The most probable outcome is
1. CAN
2. SWE
3. RUS
4. SVK

In that case next year groups are:

Canada
USA
Slovakia
Switzerland
Denmark

Sweden
Russia
Finland
Czech Republic
Belarus

Logically speaking, a Can vs. Swe final is the most probable - but something tells me the Russians may pull away with the semi-final. The Swedes were making some errors in their own zone vs. the Russians the last time, if the Russians can capitalize on that, they may win it.

I doubt the 8:0 from the first game between Canada and Slovakia will be reated, but the Canadians are still obviously clear cut favourites. Would be nice to win the bronze if nothing else, but who knows. Although looking at the groups Chara-3 posted for next year in terms of that we should be more satisfied with fourth place, haha.

But it's hockey, which is played on ice, not on paper, so almost anything can happen.

Didn't Fiala say something about Russia not being good as Switzerland then losing 7-0? This tactic or whatever won't work.

Sweden should win but it doesn't help their chances IMO. Smack talk before or during games rarely ever works, I always remember Jimmy Hayes (I think it was Jimmy Hayes) going by the Canadian bench and it just fired them up and Canada ended up winning.

Most probable final is Canada v Sweden. I would have preferred a rematch with the Americans, but I've made the Americans and Finns the favorites to play in next year's GMG.

but if this year it's Canada v Russia, than that's a worthy final and hopefully the 5 year drought ends.

I agree that smack talk can go in the favour of the opposing team. Still, it is not common that Swedish players indulge in it so it is a bit fun as-well.

I don't think we can beat Russia twice*, and if we play like we did against the Finns, no way Russia gonna fail on chances like they did.

My brain says Canada - Russia in the final
