I just love to watch the Finnish team, a great role model. No real star players aside from Kakko, but a group of dedicated and skilled players that are willing to fight and sacrifice a lot as a team in order to win the gold medal. There is no one standing around or playing passively, everyone is contributing! Very inspiring!

:laugh::laugh:

is Panarin injured?

This Russian team looks absolutely ridiculous on paper, and here I thought the US went pretty hard with their NHL stars...

Go Finland!

Bratislava. IIHF World Championship semifinal Finland - Russia. Finnish team has a young supertalent that has dazzled the entire hockey world with his skills and fearless play. In the second period, he scores that goal. That goal, which ends up in stamps in Finland.

Kaapo, we are waiting for a lacrosse goal.

It is just exhausting :laugh:

Some countries only have a chance to win at second tier stuff so that is where you get this ideology.

And I wonder who Finnish announcers would be homers for? I would love to be able to speak Finnish, I am sure listening to those guys would be a hoot.
Ofc, It was tongue in cheek comment. I liked Ferraros commentating even when Canada played Fins.

Finland need to score, they play good game, but as it was seen in first period Russia needs 2 or 3 goal chances to potentially score a goal while Finn's need like 15 chances to do so, there are no snipers on the team.

What are you talking about? Given Finnish young generation right now, they will have better business beating Canada in best on best tournaments than Sweden or USA.

Exactly, Finland has worse finishing than Russia so they are doing the exact right thing. Just pepper the net and hope for the best. No guarantees it will go in but it's the best strategy.

It was a well-humored comment on mismatch teams on paper giving a game that's more entertaining than best-on-best games occasionally manage to be.
