I don't think you know what a hit is...he barely pushed him. That happens 10000 times during any game, I am not sure why he went down so hard.

So what would? If that's not checking from behind what is?
Minor penalty is the right call there IMO - the outcome looked pretty bad, but the actual hit itself didn't seem that hard or vicious and there wasn't an intent to injure. Bonehead play nonetheless.

Follow-through with the stick (elbow according to some) was worse than the initial hit.
Hmm looks like the puck all the time jump from the sticks from the players... is it bad ice or just bad puckcontroll?
Russia is a little bit better this period. We give them to much space. They should have scored by now.
Also, Nylander can be a real pain in the ass on the PP. He needs to make it faster. Pass the puck. Not freeze it and eventually loose it.
Like I said, 2 mins should be for riding a guy into the boards, or hitting a guy who is up against the boards.
But the way that hit played out, is the most dangerous form of a hit from behind. The sudden push a couple feet from the boards results in, like it just did, a guy going head first at a bad angle while falling forward.
It definitely should have been 5 and probably a game. Usually the IIHF is more strict on these kind of plays.
Pretty sure the game misconduct is automatic, with a 5 min hit from behind penalty
It's not how hard he pushed him. It was from behind, into the boards. Doesn't really matter how hard at that point.
If that happened so often every game, they would be skating over bodies all game.
