Finland has belonged to Sweden during most of history, even though they are different people genetically. Swedes come from the Germanic/Scandinavian tribes and the Finns come from the Mongols. Finland got their liberty 100 years ago or so, never liking that that the Swedes ruled their lands.

But now we are friends...but the past is still there nagging, especially for the Finns. They learn Swedish in school still, which it seems like no Finns actually likes (which is understandable).

Thank you for the history lesson, I really wasn't aware of all that. With that said, I can understand how you are "friends" now, especially since it does appear to be quite the friendly Game-Day Thread.
