Podkolizn is more playmaker, his main strength is his hockey IQ, not his physical presence. And speaking of physicality, this team hasn't demonstrated its full potential yet.

Podkolishin is like a rich man's Landeskog. He can take over a game with physical play or skill play.

It has not. I was expecting a LOT more from Chinakhov and Amirov - let's hope tonight they deliver.

Considering that these boys just won the men's tournament and know a thing or two about heavy checking, I think they might have a few tricks up in their sleeves.

If Russia can get an early one against Levi and shake his confidence, it could be a game.

If that doesn't happen, I don't see Russia standing a chance.

Pelletier replaces Holloway on the first line.

Deserved as Pelletier has been outstanding all tournament.

Holloway has also been good but he's had some problems with the puck on his stick, whereas Pelletier has been clicking offensively.

Yes...I know what you meant and I will say again...you need to take it down a notch or two. Setting yourself up for disappointment.

I think we understand each other. We both agree that Landeskog has more money? Since I did not mean Pod is richer in the literal sense.

But I expect him to play a very strong game.

The way sports is going for me right now, and the fact that I'm cheering for Canada in this game, I would Assume Russia wins this. Sorry Canada

I like Russia tonight, sure Canada has immense talent but i think Russia has the bigger players. Podkolzin will be better then Canadas best player. And Askarov will be a tad better then Levi.

I thought Canada should have shortened the bench for this game. Form 3 line with the top performing players. Players like Quinn and Suzuki should be phased out of minutes.

I think Canada is the favorite. Although possible for Russia to win, ultimately and unfortunately the Russian talent depth will be their limiting factor. If we had 2-3 players of higher calibre, specifically dangerous forwards I think Russia could take it confidently.

You have to remember that pure talent alone doesn't really decide who wins in this tournament. You have to have that with the combination of determination and pure willpower. I wouldn't call Russia off that easily, it's probably going to be a close game.

This will be Canada's first real test, I'm not sure Semi Finals is the best place to experience this.
In many years past the semi finals were the first real test. We’ve played Russia already. This team has skill and talent. If they lose tonight it will be a deserved loss to a great team.

And while people don't talk about it as much....luck goes a long ways as well in single game eliminations.
