Yup, their skating, passing and quick decisions is a treat to watch. They're never in trouble because of how mobile they are. They can evade pressure so well. Must be hell to play against.
a nightmare to play against but unbelievable to watch. They have a tendency to play down to level of their opponents and get bored (Slovakia/Czech rep.) but against the better teams, so far, just wow

I liked Canada's game in that first, but I wouldn't be surprised if they spend the next two periods locking things down playing the turtle style.

Hope I'm wrong!

Shots may be 16-7 but I think that actually flatters the Russians.

Hey, I get why Askarov's getting the treatment as he was drafted so high and has the spotlight on him but if I cant tell if this is a Canada/Russia game or Canada/Germany from earlier in the tournament, I find it hard to rip on him.

Reminds me of Drasaitl getting crapped on during his world juniors when he had zero help on his team.

Control your stick.

Perception is so much different now in hockey re: reasons why you fall like a sack of potatoes and do a death roll...

I am getting "older"... therefore My sense of fair play is different...

You didn't fall like that years ago unless you were already unconscious as you were falling..

I dislike it in soccer... I dislike in hockey...

Thus My point..

Control your stick ?

Control your sportsmanship...

If I wanted actors in sport... I'd watch Slapshot the movie...

I'm almost starting to think he must have some kind of hand or wrist injury.
Yeah it's just weird to see a goalie not be able to catch pucks time after time in warmups. So maybe he is nursing something.

Mind you he can't hold on to his stick with his other hand so maybe he just needs to work on strengthening those wrists of his.

He was terribly out of position on the second goal.

Puck went through him on the third goal.

I mean, it is not all him, but he is certainly not having a good game.

Well, Askarov hasn't been awful, but he sure is getting outplayed by Levi. Kuznetzov didn't help much by not getting a body on McMichael on that 2nd(?) goal. That's Defense 101- he had no other job to do.

On the first goal the Dman batted it to Newhook...would've liked to have seen Askarov stop Perfetti's shot , but he was allowed to walk down to the circle.

Russia has to come out and hope that the Canadians are going to sit back and lose their intensity.
