Marner has not been good, not in this series anyway. He has had so many defensive mistakes, and has scored how many goals? For a guy who people want to pay 14mil, he's not making a difference whatsoever. If Matthews isn't scoring, Marner isn't doing much.

All signs point to Toews wanting to play next season right? I think it's a crazy idea, but these guys want to compete more than anything, regardless of their horrid health situation. A lot of talk is obviously signing in Winnipeg, but Toronto would be a funny attempt to see them try with him. (Maybe he'll try to sign with Anaheim)

To be fair Florida is playing great hockey but still it's simply shocking that after these last 8 years this Toronto core never learned to elevate their game. Since the 2016/17 season Marner and Matthews are 8th and 9th in league scoring. Matthews is 1st in goals too. It's crazy how ineffective they become. Trade Matthews and let Marner walk.

Marner deserves the hate too. Guy is averaging .19 goals per game in the playoffs. His PPG drops significantly as well. Neither are playoff performers at all.

I heard a stat when the 3rd period started that Marner has had like 1 shot in the last 6 periods or something. I don't remember the specifics but it was really alarming. If you want to be paid like a Patrick Kane level of player you've got to take over playoff series. He's NEVER done that. Hard pass on signing him. If anything try and offer our 3rd OVR +++ for Nylander.
