They showed Maurice getting the news from the trainer, looks like it's bad. So here's my question. Shouldn't there be outrage over this? I'm making this thread 4 hours after the hit. Or can we admit all teams are trying to do this, like Marchand eloquently said last year "I'm not going to complain because if I'm hit, I'm doing the same thing. I'm not going to complain, and that's how you win." Svech nearly took off Bob's head game 1. Ekblad gave the people's elbow to Blake. Can we admit that all teams are trying to get away with stuff?

Not exactly sure what is being argued by the OP.

That there isn’t more outrage and sympathy offered on a Panther being maybe being injured on a play, or that this is an example of a totally normal example of playoff attrition and therefore everything is cool and routine.

Tackle in playoffs hell nah! Since when cant you admire your play and ignore anything happening on the ice???

Gotta love the "aren't all teams doing this kinda stuff?" while chuckling type of attitude.

No, actually. Florida is the one everyone clearly sees concussing a goalie and driving an elbow into a player's head to also concuss him.

So, no. It's a good attempt to take the attention and heat off of Florida being dirty by pointing out something else that is dirty - but Florida is the clear front runner in this department. Maybe Reinhart shouldn't have admired the play or ShOuLdNt HaVe StArTeD It.

Looks like an attempted hip check with an unfortunate result.

Agreed. Not sure what the penalty would be. 2 minutes for an awkwardly executed hip check? Tripping maybe?

To compare this to what Ekbkad did is serious false equivalency. Aho was trying to make a hockey play, albeit an awkward one. Ekblad intentionally hit a player in the back of the head with a forearm shiver. That’s not a hockey play gone bad. It’s an attempt to injure.
