Prospects who Have Stagnated

Adam Jiricek not off to a great start in the O. I was never that high on him due to a lack of higher end offensive skill/trait.

Basicly he started the season still injured, played a couple of games where he was very rusty (not surprisingly), and got injured again. No clue how long he will be out. It's a little bit concerning, but I hope he's going to be healthy again rather sooner than later and is able to play a stretch of games.

Dvorsky named Springfield's player of the month with 10 pts, +7 in 11 games.

He's 19 years old and playing well in the A. Seems like talks of Dvorsky's stagnation were greatly exaggerated, which most familiar with the player knew they were.

Still some work to be done on his two-way game but he'll get some ice with the Blues later this season.

Unfortunately, there's no way to feel good about Jiricek's past two seasons. Will be greatly disappointed if he misses the WJC.

Oliver Moore seems to be stagnating a bit at Minnesota. I know they added Wood, while Kurth, Lamb, and Clark have taken off to varying degrees, but Moore just hasn't exploded (yet).

Seems to be a fair amount of guys who underproduce at Minnesota and then end up fine in the NHL. We'll see with Moore.

If I remember right, there was a lot of concern about Moores offensive game pre draft. Speed is unquestionable. The question is where his offensive ceiling is. A lot of guys have carved out good bottom 6 NHL careers though based on skating and being able to score 20-30 points a year though.

Ryan Tverberg scoring his 4th goal in the AHL made me think of this thread

After being one of the latest cut for Team Canada, he had a great rookie season in the AHL with 32 points in 46 games. And now he's fading out slowly. I admit this is pure stats-watching, maybe he's developing other apsects of his game.

Statistically, Drew Commesso is also regressing in the AHL, but goalies are often up and down

Injuries have kind of derailed Tverberg in the last year or so.

Could someone please provide some sort of update on Chaz Lucius? He seemed to have so much promise and I know the injury setbacks have been both severe and multiple instances but he has played a decent number of games in Manitoba this year and his counting stats are not encouraging.

Does anyone have any insights into what is going on with him?

The Moose are terrible this year. Absolutely horrendous. For most of the season they had no defensemen that could move the puck out of their end. Other top forward prospects like Lambert and Chibrikov have also had poor numbers for the same reason.

All that being said…Lucius has injured every single body part at least once since he was drafted. He’s injured again currently and the team hasn’t indicated why. Cracked his rib sneezing maybe?

I don't punch down at lower picks. Big boys only.

David Reinbacher
Adam Fantilli
Leo Carlsson
Dalibor Dvorsky
Shane Wright
Logan Cooley
Marco Kasper
Matt Savoie
Matty Beniers
Kent Johnson
Tyler Boucher

This was a fun list to look back on.

Shane Wright is above point per game lately. Another beauty assist tonight.

Marco Kasper is still up and down but just had an 11 pt in 10 game stretch on the Wings top line. Great for a 20 year old.

Fantilli and Kent Johnson have both been roughly point per game lately.

This wasn't really a list of stagnating prospects. It was a variety of young players, a few who were stagnating or approaching bust status, and the rest were high upside still blossoming potential stars that PB has a grudge against because he thought they were overdrafted and can't let go of his priors.

Forced to retire with a hereditary tissue disease called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It's too bad. Tons of skill but the inability to stay healthy.
