Have to admit the name Seattle Thunderbirds and potential logo for that are freakin' awesome. (Sorry if this thread wasn't supposed to mention that).
I'd love to see a team in the NHL wear brown in some form. The more unique colour combinations in the league the better as long as they don't look ridiculous. I could get behind that design.

Does it say anywhere that a potential new owner can't purchase the rights or the junior team and adopt it as well? Because I think they can.
Mammoth is a bad name. It doesn't flow at all for a hockey team name.
Thunderbirds does.
And you need to learn to take criticism better, you aren't going to make everyone happy.
I always loved these.
As a designer, I disagree with you.No what he is missing big time is shading. It looks flat.
It's boring, the colors don't pop out at you at all, it's the kind of color scheme the Army would love because it's bland and if you jump into a sand dune, you'd be camouflaged. It has to jump out you, it's missing a great deal of "finish."
Do more studying of Mammoth's. There is ample sources out there to use.
The "white out" is a cheap cop out from adding detail. The ears look more alien than Mammoth. It needs work, but not a complete over haul, just re-working details.
I'm not sure if you've missed my feedback, or you're ignoring it. I took on simplifying your colour palette and I think it's a stronger design for it. I still offer you feedback on the actual shape of the design being too contemporary, but that's your choice whether you wish to take that on.

The best logos are "flat". It's a large part of what make a design relevant for 40 years as opposed to 5. Look at Paul Rand. Greatest designer of the 20th century and simplicity is the key.
When you start adding detail to design to add detail, 9/10 times you've designed something poorly.
As a fellow artist, I think it's a terrific design that's different from the rest of the NHL and yet can fit into the league. My feedback is to make it less stylized and more simple.

Now, you can either get mad at this, or take it as an opportunity to show us up.
No what he is missing big time is shading. It looks flat. It's not well executed at all, the outline is the same color as the body of the head, what's the tertiary color here? The weird off white in the dark brown and light brown? I don't know if that remotely works for the Seattle demographic in any way shape or form. He needs to study Seattle, there are better ideas than "Seattle Mammoths."

Really hope it's the latter.
Amazing in an era where you know...Hi-Def tv's didn't exist. Look at it, it looks boring. It looks like an instagram filter was applied to it.

You miss the point entirely. And Rand, while good and a legend, was a modernist. That's like comparing H&M Clothing to Zegna.
Can you please stop calling me out like that? Not only is it unnecessary but it is also not helping on the topic.
Like I said above, I am done working on it for the night as I've spent far too many hours the past few days on it. I also feel unnecessarily rushed by you. It's very odd.
I am however taking your critique and suggestions into consideration and will revise them tomorrow when I work further on it.
Now please, change your attitude or I will start ignoring you altogether, on purpose this time. I apologize if you felt in any shape or form that I have attacked you somehow, because I haven't nor was it in my intentions. So, sorry.
That wasn't attacking you, just so you know. Not even a little.
Unless you wanted me to be dishonest and say "Omg, awesome!"
