I think it was the head hitting the turf that triggered it.

Fighting for the first down on a third and 1, got pushed back right after he got the first down, so I'm guessing landed awkwardly on his back/neck? The replay doesn't really show anything obvious, it really just looked like a play we see all the damn time.
