Buffalo Bills Season over. Ow.

I’ve lived through four straight Super Bowl losses, a 17 year playoff drought, the Chiefs/refs/McDermott D playoff era, wide right, home run throwback, 13 seconds, no goal, the Kevyn Adams do nothing GM era that never ends, running every good player out of town and watching them lift cups and a 14 year and ongoing NHL playoff drought

The curse is real.

Let’s start burning things down.

Fire in Tonawanda?

This and acting like wed won at 13 seconds should kick McD and his gelded no balls self to curb . I'm sorry many here were right before as I defended this weak b.s. we all did great running cook or screens short passes to run clock , until spags adjusts and doesn't work.

then instead of risk to put dagger in downfield where Josh was great if he didn't get a free rusher we shite our pants out of fear of losing instead of finishing a dead KC team second time we had them up 22 to 21 second sneak ! the ONLY THING KC had the answer to Spags knew what was coming sickening

Hats off to figuring that out which Rams and ravens also ended that easy b play
watch mahomes finish game instead of giving us the ball w moderate risk F U McD and Brady from letting Josh win game early multiple times until putting ball in hands when he must throw and Josh finds hollins bailing these idiots out and Babich and d force field goal . still too conservative trying to play perfect on what should be game winning pass instead throwing too many times within the ten yard box around line of scrimmage

hire Babich he had a pair end this sad McD second SUPER bowl loss for the BEST PLAYER on field

KC didn't believe they'd win even w mahomes scoring

we had it won and too afraid to end it . period

Against McDuffie too if memory serves. I don't understand that one. Felt like a panic throw by Josh, rather than just letting the routes play out on the left hand side of the field.
There was a lot of that, the panic throwing to guys who were well covered. Could see the writing on the wall when he nearly threw three interceptions on two passes to start the game. Just none of the sharpness, poise and swagger, we looked beat before they ever scored a point against us. Losing Benford was the nail in the coffin, we can’t win with Elam in a key role, not ever.

love Josh love the players they all balled out put in bad positions in plays KC knew were coming

This is all COACHING This is all throwing plays before KC figures them or fakimg going away from plays that KC adjusts to

failing to win game down field on first or second down when KC came up in box

All coaching scared afyer great coaching to go to run and simply not dictating to KC and dominating by setting up KC on 3rd and 4th when they sold out to stop superman

instead run through brick wall 7 ? times instead of creatively faking or trusting superman to throw down field or even roll right this was OURS like 13 don't DARE BLAME Kincaid or Elam we choked as coaching on offense

Just dealing with a Michael Jordan type player right now.. Teams with 4 TDs + 0 turnovers in the playoffs are 21-2 since 2020.

Only losses are us versus the Chiefs in 2021 and last night

You know if the roles were reversed, and KC had the ball with 3 mins left down 3, they'd get the TD. That's because they have the better combination of QB and coaching.

Allen was ok yesterday. Really lucky to get out of the game with no INTs, and made some great throws, but the jitters were obvious. Mahomes, on the other hand, was on point. The O line also had a rare off day. Cook was amazing. Kincaid has been a huge disappointment. Cooper can go. Hopefully, Coleman can learn how to get more separation or he's not becoming a #1 WR (still should be solid, though).

Defense sucked. Point blank. They made two big stops in the 2nd half, but allowed points on all but two drives. The Chiefs were marching down the field with ease. This is where I am lenient, though. The defense was the weak link this year. Just not enough talent, yet. Let's just hope Benford is ok. The man was passing out while being carted off the field. Scary stuff.

Kudos to Bass. Him and Cook were the two most consistent players for the Bills during this playoff run.

Unless we can hire Andy Reid from the Chiefs we aren’t going to get a better coach than McDermott currently. His defense did well in the 2nd half, forced 2 punts and a FG at the end. Offense didn’t convert.
This is where I'm at. Unless Reid or McVay ever become available (lol), just stick with McD. He's a good coach. Unfortunately, he's not a top-3 coach of all time, but do people really think we're going to find a coach like that this offseason? Who is that? We'll more than likely have to go through growing pains with a new hire. Not fun. Also, it completely turns the locker-room on its head bc those players RIDE for McD, so you better be 100% sure youre getting a better coach than McD if you can his ass, which, let's be honest, isn't happening with the pool of coaches likely to be available over the next few seasons.

Good post. Only thing I’d add is my perennial ask for a big, short yardage back. Plenty of them always available in free agency.

Tyleik Williams is the McDermott 1DT.

Xavier Watts?

I like Coleman but wanted DeJean or Sweat at 33.
I like Watts and think he would be a good addition, but I think at this point he's more of a day 2 guy than a trade up in the first big splash type.

One thing that surprised me if how many Bills content creator types (Cover 1 folks, etc.) are already talking about WR as one of their top needs, a possible first round pick or high end FA signing, etc. Certainly if Cooper leaves they need to replace him. But uhm, was I imagining us just having the best offense in the nfl? I just can't even fathom looking at this team and what they did this year and even this game and going "yep what they need is one elite WR to push them over the edge!"

As for McDermott, firing him talk is silly. What I do wish is he would embrace the stuff he's good at (leader of me, team organization, etc.) and become more of a Dan Campbell type coach and hand the defenses reigns fully over to an Xs and Os defensive guy. Maybe it's Babbich. Maybe it's a more seasoned Leslie Frasier type. I don't know. But while I like McDermott the head coach, I increasingly don't like McDermott the DC.

Buffalo played well enough to win

KC played well enough to win.

There are two big swings in this game were:

- Benford getting injured on the 1st drive
- The 4th and 1 call that went against us.

It just sucks that one team consistently gets all the breaks while everyone else gets jack shit. KC won 3-4 games this year on blind luck which gifted them the bye and home field. Then in AFC championship game, the other teams top corner goes out and on a critical 4th and 1 call it goes their way.

They are a good team but to not acknowledge the volume of breaks/calls go their way is just astounding.

After the Andrews drop I thought some things might actually be bouncing our way, but I guess we can't beat the chiefs, the refs, and dumb f***ing luck.

Late to the party, but I'd look to replace Joe Brady, although I doubt they'll consider it.

Even when we put up points this season it rarely looked easy or looked like guys were being schemed open. I think the passing game was lame all year and last night's game was just the cherry on top of poor play calling

I haven't been a huge fan since he took over, and I'm probably using 1 game to confirm all my bias, but some of the stuff is mind numbing

I strongly disagree.

They put up 29 points with zero turnovers. I think Joe Brady will reflect and learn from what happened. But, that he built the first offense in NFL history with 30 passing TDs and 30 rushing TDs and was the 2nd best scoring offense while limiting turnovers to a historically low level with the limited talent in the WR room was more than enough for Brady to come back.

The only coach that I really want to see them move on from is Matthew Smiley.

And I don't know if it is coaching, but they need more out of the DL in critical spots, and throughout the season in general.

I thought the DL kept them in the game yesterday.. The reason why the Chiefs had to kick a field goal the final minutes was because of the pressure on Mahomes.

Sean McDermott is a good coach BUT...... I don't like the way we play defense. Passive, conservative, limited blitzes. Spags put a master class on last night.

My outside the box thought - Fire McDermott, Smiley, Babich.

Promote Joe Brady to head coach. Hire Lou Anarumo has DC. He has defeated Mahomes in the playoffs.

Keeps Allen having a consistent play caller for the foreseeable future who's done overall a good job. McDermott is known for defense but they cop out each time. First time all year KC hit 30 points.

3:33 time left...plenty to get a few runs in. they played panic ball at that point. and the 4th down throw to Kincaid - should have not been in that predicament to start with.
I agree, Cook should've gotten the ball.

They were up and down. Mahomes broke contain way too easily and often and made some killer plays with his legs.

They were not able to hurry Mahomes up enough, especially in the first half. Especially given how bad the Chiefs tackles have been.

Groot had 3 tackles, 1 solo, 0 TFLs, 0 sacks, & 0 QB hits.

Von Miller had 1 tackle, 0 solo, 0 TFLs, 0 sacks, & 0 QB hits.

AJ Epenesa had 1 tackle, 1 solo, 0 TFLs, 0 sacks, & 1 QB hit.

That is not enough from their top 3 DEs.

Jordan Philips and Austin Johnson each had 1 TFL. The rest of the DL had zero combined.

That's not a big enough impact in that game.

Spags put on a master class versus 2nd year OC Joe Brady but McDermott deserves to be fired and replaced and got ran over by the best offensive mind in NFL history by losing by *checks notes* 3 points.

Also gave his said replacement a chance to win the game with 3 timeouts and 3 minutes. Didn’t even make it past the 50. I’m good thanks.

The bills had arguably the best offense in the NFL this season. Replacing Brady is a wild take. You’ll get your wish next year when he gets a HC job, though.
