The only thing I'll say about these comments is that this is the same stuff Bones was saying about his Stars teams last year and that he was in the media blaming his players there as well.

So to me there is some hesitancy to fully take what he's saying as the be all end all. I think some core players have to be moved, it's time for that but I do have some issue with blaming everything on pride and push back. Like if you just will yourself harder your suddenly going to be a good team. Things like talent, roster composition and everything else play a role as well.

I don't really care about much of anything related to Bones. He was essentially retired and did Chevy a favor when nobody else could be found to coach last year. I doubt he even had any intention of being here next year at all. It's just as you say - there needs to be pro-activity. Not wait around and see what happens. We knew at the end of last season where we were at. Last off-season was a good time for some big changes but that didn't really happen.

Essentially, he did say that. :)

I'd also suggest maybe an over-estimation of talent might be part of the problem here too.

Laughable, you guys are all dreaming if you think a massive rebuild, or a build at all is happening. they will take 1 more run at it with the group they have left next year. Making the playoffs was the worst outcome for this team, it will allow Chevy another pass and no changes next year…
If so, I won't be there.

Imagine a group of professionals causing two veteran coaches to quit in basically a single year. That seems unheard of.

Agreed, you wonder what was pitched to ownership. It's clear ownership wanted another shot with this core thiough. We are essentially in Flames of last year territory. Do we bite the bullet and rebuild or does ownership stubbornly demand we trybto stay in the fight.

This is no longer a management issue but an ownership issue. Chipman better make the right call.

Seems like the Jets’ coach-killing prowess is starting to impact their own coaching staff.

Winter is Coming
I'm gonna guess there's a couple different clicks in the room, you got the Josh Lowry nik Barron apples etc who will bring it nightly, basically the bottom 6, you got Nino and Names who appear to care and Blake certainly cares but I'm not sure mark pld or kc do. And that's our 3 best, I don't think this is an entire team problem, I think it's a 1 2 or 3 bad apples ruining the bunch thing. Bottom line this series, Vegas best players were their best, our best players were not.

Dillon and Schmidt did as well as they could. They aren't seen as drivers of the team. Your top players are your top players for a reason. There are three that torpedoed the rest.
Schmidt might be grossly overpaid, but he worked hard for us. Dillon was an excellent acquisition for us. I thought he was solid all year. The guy owes us nothing.

Quite possible that by venting the way Bones did he knows that he is not coming back, fixing this team is not a 1 year thing

I think that's just him. He is a wear his heart on his sleeves type. He did the same in Dallas.

No idea what the future holds for him but I'm not sure he's the right guy for a rebuild given he's likely only got one year left before he retires.

Thing is, the core was good enough to be in first place in the conference a few months into the season but for whatever reason, they can’t handle adversity.

Is this a deep rooted mental issue that is unsolvable? Do we need a different type of coach that is capable of getting players out of this funk? Are the core players that are prone to this unfixable and need to get jettisoned because their funk is contagious?

I guess that’s the frustrating thing for me. We have elite talent but weak moral fortitude.
