On EV he has more primary assists /60 than Nikita Kucherov, so it's not like the production hasn't been good relative to his usage.

Unfortunately Seattle may have taken him more because of the low price than his qualities.
On the other han he less primary assists/60 than Justin Kirkland so maybe that stat isn't all that valuable.

Kakko is just a middling 3rd liner at best, at this point. Seattle is banking on the draft potential he had and isn not giving up much if he doesn't pan out. I don't get why anyone is amazed at this trade tbh.

I can see what Drury was thinking here. Moved out Trouba for next to nothing...Borgen kind of backfills that for a lot cheaper. Also moved out a malcontent mouthing off in the media in the process.

But man, the value on this series of transactions is bad. Two good players in the right role, shipped out for one not very good player and some beans.

But something is clearly rotten in the state of Denmark...errr...New York. All three teams clearly feeling the heat and pressure to do...something.
Kakko is not a cuck, he told the coach off. Ironic the only loser in this is NYR.

Huh. So I guess going to the media turned out to be a good way to get moved after all.

Seems to me that Kakko was fed up with losing, so he's the type of player you'd want to keep?

You'd think.

He played Good Soldier for many years now. Spoke up about being benched when other players are coasting.

Comes off as more of a power move than logical.
