its growing the game. i would say the exact same thing if it were a male sport and they weren't getting proper exposure. once upon a time junior hockey wasn't drawing anything and TSN made the Jrs etc one of the biggest things ever. Give an opportunity is all they are asking

but clearly this is a each their own thing so we'll just let it lie.

The problem is Daisy if your sport isn't profitable for TV you have to pay to be broadcast by them and it's bloody expensive

A lot of people still don't really care about CHL hockey unfortunately. It is big in more remote communities which still have a fair amount of people, but you have to be a pretty big hockey fan or want to watch prospects otherwise.

I think it will be similar for Women's hockey. I think they can get an ECHL following but most guys in the ECHL are not making enough money to play hockey full time.

AHL hockey should get more love for sure though. Especially if you are a more old school fan, there is a lot more physicality on a game-by-game basis in the AHL than in the NHL these days.

EDIT: I also think that if there is a really good female, they should try to get them integrated in the higher paying men's leagues too. IDK if that is feasible but there are a few who may be good enough to make it in men's leagues. The quality in general is just not high enough right now to be more than a novelty of sort. I found it more entertaining than women's basketball (they are far behind NCAA and NBA basketball so IDK how they survive without major subsidies), and I think Women's Olympic hockey is amazing, but you need more than just a few super teams worth of players to be able to have a sustainable league.

The NHL isn't shown on television for "exposure", it's broadcast because it attracts viewers which in turn brings in advertising dollars.

Woman's hockey would have trouble beating a Poker Tournament in ratings which is why they don't generate enough dollars to pay them.

Want them to get a higher salary? Get your fellow women to start watching them way more often. Right now their fanbase is overwhelmingly men (I'm one of them), not nearly enough of us.

Technically there is no such thing as a male sport, Women are allowed to compete in every professional league. They're asking to be paid for something that doesn't generate revenue. But if companies wanna support them i won't complain, good for them.
