Wow, I'm surprised. For a guy like PDeB, who values experience, throwing him in didn't seem possible. Of course, many call ups were surprising during the season, where calling up the best player, Stank or Mav, was not done, but if they needed a defensive forward they called up someone who was a defensive forward.
In size and meanness, Bischel is like Tanev, but his experience level might cost us. He has gone nuts a few times in other leagues and if does that and EDM goes on the power play it will hurt. On the other hand, if he throws his considerable weight around, maybe McJesus and Drain get a little timid. Of course, I expect him to be a bit timid with the puck. Harley was a few years ago, and is again in his first playoffs where we might be expected to be the favorite.
All that said, we can hope for a Cinderella moment where the national TV audience loves his big hits and he gets famous overnight.
