We either need to have our depth go crazy in game 6, or we need to win a game 2-1 somehow. I don't see McDavid and Draisaitl being no shows on home ice with a chance to advance to the SCF though.

Oettinger has to give up 0 or 1.

Dallas aren't scoring more than 2.

(Makes me throw up a bit that I'm saying that for Stuart skinner)

Again, they look like they are running out of gas. At no point tonight or the last game felt like they were capable of upping their game to win.

The only positive is where I saw the Corgi bouncing balls to predict the outcome, and I think the games have gone the way the ball bounced, and the Stars were predicted to win in 7. That corgi has to be more important than the eye test, right?

Dallas really need the win tonight. If this game was close then I would be more optimistic but the Oilers have all the momentum right now. And we all know Deboer won’t make a single adjustment for Game 6 with the season on the line. Keep playing Pavelski.

That shorthanded goal in game 4 felt like the dagger to the series. Stars had a great chance to take a 3-2 lead heading into the 3rd, and if they do they probably take a 3-1 series lead.

I really never felt confident about this game tonight. Things have just have felt off since that goal and the Stars offense hasn't been dangerous in a long time now. Just feels like Edmonton has them completely figured out

Yeah for all the “gross” that’s been thrown against the Oilers they’ve stepped up and have put us in check; series still not over.

Stars need to make a few good moves.

Love how DeBoer is pissy for getting called out. Your team was lifeless you Dumb ass. That’s on you. Yes it shows their character. But once again that’s what a coach is supposed to do. You are being out coached by a rookie coach.

They are also out scouting you. They know there are guys who refuse to shoot. That is why ceci was moving over when duchene had the puck and a clear path to the net. He knew duchene would not shoot. That’s on you dumb ass coach. Man up and be a little harder on your vets. Call out pavelski. Call out duchene. They are pros and they deserve the heat.

While im not a stars fan, im a big fan of oettinger so i follow them in the playoffs... and I want to know how Ryan Suter got a contract. The past few playoffs he has been such an incredible liability, team scoring issues or not.

Idiotic, boneheaded decisions on his part.

Its the name. Same thing with Pavelski playing way too much. Suter was bad 90% of his time here but the first two rounds this years he was decent actually. Its always veterans that fck up our playoffs. At least its not the captain this year.

Suter is cooked, as is Pavelski, and IMO Dadonov.

Glad I was able to fast forward through that. Although I didn’t watch most of it, the shot totals going into the third point to an embarrassing effort. Oh well, Edmonton wants it more I guess.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I thought I remember reading Dallas has not lost 3 games in a row all year. Would be an awful way to break that trend right now.

Plenty of reasons to be upset but obsessing over shot totals is pointless; Dallas graded out with more scoring chances than Edmonton despite the PP disparity. This will never be a high shot volume team, that's not how they're constructed.

I’m glad to hear that. Like I said, I didn’t watch all of it. Good to know that they didn’t just roll over.

I still believe they can win but it’s hard to be optimistic right now.

Duchene’s season

Up to mid-Feb 0.41 g/gm 1.02 pts/gm over 54 games
After mid-Feb 0.12 g/gm 0.38 pts/gm over over 26 games
Playoffs 0.12 g/gm 0.35 pts/gm over 17 games
When was his injury? I remember he came back looking like a shell of the player he was.

IMHO, the worst part is PDB had the depth to rest the older guys at least a few games in the regular season and NOT doing that may be hurting them now.

Granted, they needed until the last few games to wrap up home ice, but that hasn't been our strong suit either. Maybe the "just get in and see what happens" philosophy needs to come back.

Dallas problem the past two games has been tactical. I hope they realize that and adjust. Dump and chase and then playing scared of a counterattack hasn't worked.

Some good coaching changes and player execution can absolutely get us back in this series. Play our game not theirs.

They do look gassed. Maybe it was playing against those two hard opponents the first two rounds. Maybe added to it was not resting anyone in the chase for the top seed the final couple of weeks. Maybe going most of the playoffs playing five D has worn them out and in the process killed their transition game.

What does DeBoer do? He stuck with the same lines and essentially the same lineup to get diminishing returns from game 4 to 5. Does desperation mean putting in some fresh legs, or does he stick with who got him here, even if the worry is some of those legs have nothing left?

And I don't like the way we get the intermission crew talking about Edmonton wanting it more. I don't buy it. A team who doesn't have the desire doesn't get the top seed and this far in the playoffs.
