From this angle it looks like Benson cuts hard before making contact with Kelly
Sorry to hear, RIP to McNabb then. But trying to paint me as some cancer hater when my I have cancer victims in my family? How am I supposed to know the history of Avs announcers. The play by play guy is the same. But the analyst in that clip is Peter McNabb and was replaced by Mark Rycroft
You did nothing wrong. Don’t worry about it. What you said has nothing to do with the guy dying.Sorry to hear, RIP to McNabb then. But trying to paint me as some cancer hater when my I have cancer victims in my family? How am I supposed to know the history of Avs announcers.
My point was obviously about the hypocrisy of the call made and had NOTHING to do with attacking a victim.
But i'll lay off my hypocrisy comments in regards to Rycroft and take that back. But the PBP announcer still acted like it's the first time he's ever seen this egregious situation, he should have known and provided the correct context instead of raging out for the Avs honor.
nets are 6x4A lot of net around a goalie on the ice. Goalie isn’t any different
And Kelly lifts his leg and sends Benson into Goalie
Kelly tries to catch his balance from not expecting Benson to cut so hard into him. To suggest that he’s intentionally slew footing him is an interesting take.
Are you f***ing kidding me? He slew foots him directly onto his goalie. Uncalled, btw.
Thank you sir. I meant nothing by it except what was stated in my post. A critique about play calling and that's it.You did nothing wrong. Don’t worry about it. What you said has nothing to do with the guy dying.
Props to Connor Clifton for taking out the Av trying to cheapshot Benson
Intentional or not.. he did.
He was 100% correct in his play calling on the clip I posted too. Sounds like he knew his hockey.Peter McNabb was a gentleman. No need to speak ill of him ever.
Benson felt a little push in his back and flop in Wedgewood. Look at both his legs. He knows what he was doing.Intentional or not.. he did.
What I’m saying is that it was more coincidental than when a player comes in and clearly shoves a player into their goalie. I don’t think it was goaltender interference, but I do think the ref should have blown it based on Benson initiating the contact.
I can understand why you would disagree and live I definitely thought it was Kelly’s fault, so I get the call.
All in all, I think when a goalie is clearly hurt and there’s a true opportunity to blow the whistle, I think it should be blown.
K buddyBenson felt a little push in his back and flop in Wedgewood. Look at both his legs. He knows what he was doing.
I don't think it should be called unless it's a face/head shot until team gains possession.
Fair enough, we can agree to disagree on that component.
Love how serious NHL promotes safety, then does stuff like this.
Wasn't goalie interference, but play should've been whistled dead for serious injury, as the NHL rulebook allows. Even dumber decision by Bedner to challenge it.
Shades of Calvert getting the puck in the head, bleeds from the head, and Vancouver scores cause no whistle.
In my opinion Benson cuts hard towards Kelly and falls into the goalie, Kelly does not push Benson in.
I get why the ref let the play continue, but in a situation like that I feel the ref should blow the whistle.
