I've been to Scotiabank/ACC a lot, and not just for hockey games.
It's a great venue, but one thing it's never, ever had - that sense of history, tradition, and gravitas that Gardens had. There was a charm that came with that old barn that they've never been able to replicate with this building, which sucks.
I remember walking through the Bell Center two years ago with a buddy, on a non-game day, and there was such a sense of organizational weight & pride that you could feel everywhere. The Gardens had it too.
Scotiabank won't ever have that. It's one of the downsides of modern buildings - they don't even try for it anymore.
