Finished all seasons of From. Excellent show in the Lost mold. Looking forward to Season 4 down the line now that it's been renewed. I believe Netflix picked it up for anyone interested.

First two seasons were awesome. Third was hot garbage with a few good scenes.

Yup, absolutely. Way better than Rogue One.

And yeah, it’s a shame too because the second season had such a crazy ending.

Because for the longest time in the comics his character had a bowl cut. It was always horrible looking. It's hard to take some raging supergoon seriously with hair like that and hopefully he gets mocked for it in the movie and gets a proper cut

I think he was in the first season on the prison ship. Did he come back again? I don’t remember.

I had to look it up. He was in season one and two. Season two, “believer” is the one that burr gives a performance it’s hard to believe came from him.

Yeah, I was a bit dubious when I saw him show up, but he knocked it out of the park. The tension slowly building was great.


I finished re-reading Redwall just now. The dialogue was very much YA, but the book was a LOT more violent than I remember as a kid. Creatures are eaten, drowned, burned, boiled, and buried.

All very good stuff, though. I was a bit reluctant to read it again as an adult, but it definitely holds up.


Next up is Pawn of Prophecy, I'll get started on that tomorrow.

I’ve hated them all for a looooong time but somehow they keep finding new ways to make me hate them even more.

This is even worse than @mja’s insane Last Jedi opinions.

I will not be spoken to like this by a child who thinks the prequels are better than TLJ, R1, or even TFA for that matter. Hell, I think I'd rather re-watch Solo instead of TPM or AOTC!

I'm about 4-5 chapters into Pawn of Prophecy. So far so good. It may be a cliche, but I'm a sucker for the 'farm boy with a mysterious past rises to meet his destiny' plot. It's been done so many times for a reason.

I’m confused about something in the malazan series, somewhere between book 6 and 8.

I thought Mael at some point gets imprisoned by either feather witch or someone else that I’m drawing a blank on. I don’t remember him getting free but in the beginning of book 8 he’s out and about helping Tehol run his new empire. What did I miss or what am I forgetting?

I finished Pawn of Prophecy today. I wanted to like it a lot more than I did. Garion is a fine enough character, but he spends pretty much all of the book being kept in the dark about what is actually happening, and I found that as irritating as he did. He's basically along for the ride the whole time, and we're only spoon fed parts of big revelations. I may come back to the series at some point, but it probably won't be anytime soon.

I will say I loved Durnik. The man has no time for nonsense, and he had a line early on about getting a job done right, even if you're the only person who will know really resonated with me.

Not sure what I'll start next. I'm leaning towards The Gormenghast, but I'm also considering the next Black Company book or the First Law standalones.


As an aside, Pawn was the 37th book I read this year, which is probably the single highest yearly total since middle school. Depending on what I pick and how quickly I read it I may be able to get that up to 38.
