Interesting. I really don't get why. He didn't perform well but we'd be waiving a lot more than him if that were the criteria :P

Mcnabb-Doughty
Muzzin-Erhoff
Martinez-Greene
Forbort

Meh looks better but I still don't like Muzzin as much as the rest of you do. Greene and Muzzin gone would make me much happier. Gravel next year hopefully makes Greene expendable

Yessssssss!

I think with the AHL team in Ontario, the Kings are gonna roll with 22 man roster. Lombardi alluded to doing that when talking about the American league team being so close to LA.

The guy makes for a decent emergency stop gap, but I'm glad he's being sent down for the sole reason that Sutter can't play him now.

He was a stop gap till some folks got healthy, he was also being rewarded for a good camp.

He was never a long term solution in the lineup. Forbort will be given some ice time now.

Muzzin/Doughty need to split up, Muzzin actually plays better away from Doughty.

Kind of agree, and I like the idea behind the look of Doughty-McNabb / Muzzin-Ehrhoff even if the execution so far was bleccccccccch. If Muzzin doesn't play better NO ONE we have can fill his role.

Schultz is a guy that serves his purpose and is a nice stopgap. Not fair to execute him any more than anyone else after two games. He doesn't play beyond his abilities.

Yes, bingo

If Muzzin doesn't get healthy and on track, the Kings are screwed. The have no one that can chew up Muzzin's minutes, or provide his possession and production.

according to eklund we are after Dion now with all our cap space lol

yeah with Kopitar off our books in less than a year, there'll be ton of cap space to sign Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, and trade for David Clarkson and Dion Phaneuf

heck, maybe there'll be enough cap to squeeze in Mike Richards

No point in having 3 scratches every night when Ontario's so close, send him down and save those cap pennies.

Wow didn't think the Kings would do this because Forbort now sits for most of the year unless McNabb comes out or Muzzin/Greene is not healthy, which they seem to be.

I would think and hope that Lombardi, Sutter and co would rather have a journeyman riding the pine as the #7 than a rookie, but I guess they know more than me.

#7 defensemen will usually end up playing 45-65 games for a team. Injuries happen, nights off are needed, changes need to be made, players develop, etc. It's a really really long season. In all likelihood Schultz is eventually back in LA at times, McBain might be back, and even Gravel could see some NHL time.

Yep, doing the math, 82 games x 6 defensemen slots = 492 games. That's just over 70 games for 7 defensemen on the roster. Besides Doughty, who else can you expect to play close to 80 games this season? Forbort's gonna play unless our guys have ridiculously good luck with health this season.
