Oh my god. That is absolutely one of the worst trades and uses of asset management that I have ever seen from this organization. I wouldn't have traded Holtz or Schmid BY THEMSELVES for that package. Maybe Schmid, but that is by himself. Fitz is embarrassing himself right now.

That seems very random
Not too random when you consider Schmid and Holtz were two of the biggest scapegoats this year, and Fitz got another big boy for the bottom six. Not saying this isn't likely a shitty trade but he clearly wanted to offload certain people and get more of an 'orchestra' this offseason than a one-trick band.

i was fine with trading holtz. wasn't super excited about giving him away for free.

26 year old 4th liner and a 3rd for our best goalie prospect and our former top prospect. that's awful.

Feels like that’s terrible value for Holtz + Schmid.

The contract is nice on Cotter, but Fitz better have something up his sleeve for this to make sense.

Yeah I just don’t see the purpose of trading Holtz for that. I’d rather just keep him

I hate to break it to you guys but Schmid had little to no value at the NHL level.

Goalies do not go for much, not to mention his horrible stats last year and we now have 3 goalies ahead of him on the depth chart.

Holtz is Holtz, ive heard from people in the org they really didnt like his hockey IQ above all else. 2 pieces the org had really no interest in keeping / needing
