Skinner has played well this series. There’s no denying that but good grief he needs to stay in his crease. Him leaving it to play the puck is going to cost us at some point tonight. He never makes a good play with the puck. He either hesitates so long to make a pass that by the time he does the defenseman he’s passing to has a forechecker bearing down on him and can’t make a play or he’s firing it up the boards to a Panther. It wouldn’t surprise me if half the Panthers offensive zone time could be attributed to Skinner playing the puck instead of just staying in his net. The worst example was with 25 seconds left in the period and he went behind the net. He didn’t even play it but he got in Bouchard’s way and prevented him from making a play and then the Panthers had heavy pressure for the rest of the period.
