Holloway looked pretty nervous that period. You can be a great hockey player but game 7 SC pressure is a thing. Hopefully we can get the next goal and settle in.

You had to know Panthers would come out blistering in that 1st period... I mean they HAD to because this would be historically bad if they came out and laid an egg tonight. So Florida going gangbusters early was to be expected to get the momentum and get the crowd on their side.

That Janmark goal helped calm things down though... and for as strong as that period was for the Panthers... 1-1 is basically a clean slate now for the next 40 minutes.

Settle down and come out harder in the 2nd and 3rd and this game is the Oilers to win.

Can’t believe I’m suggesting this based on how bad McLeod was in that period as well, but if Nuge continues to play at this snail’s pace then that flip to put McLeod up with competent players might not be the worst idea so we don’t just spread the problem to another top 6 line.

It’s tied but that period was pretty much all Florida. Shot counter wasn’t at all accurate to the play. They spent more than double the time in our zone than we spent in theirs.

It’s more of a, if we continue playing like we did, we will lose. If we play better we can win. We can only really talk about what we saw.
