We don’t like to shoot. Throw everything toward the net on Vasilevsky, I don’t think he’s actually as good as his reputation. Good, no doubt. But I think the trap style helps.

100000% He's good, he's not great. There was some lunatic on SiriusXM the day after the ECF and he claimed Vasilevskiy is top 5 all time. Ridiculousness. The guy uses pads that are far bigger than they're supposed to be. Look at any other goaltender they look petite compared to Vasilevskiy. The trap and team in front of him completely pads his stats. If he had the open game in front of him the way Shesterkin has had, he would look pedestrian. Like game 1 of the ECF. Most overrated goaltender I ever seen. That's Tampa's strategy with goaltenders, find the biggest guy they can find and plop him in net.

Avs got into good shooting positions on those. And they softened up Vasi from the start of the game with plenty of good shots on net and making him fight to make saves.

Same, Tampa usually gets better as the series goes on. That said, Avs on offense is just a different beast. It'll be interesting for sure.

And we have to remember; we weren't outclassed. They went up 2-0 in game three and had a chance to go up 3-0, and then Cooper called in the trap and that was it. I feel like we have no coaches with any idea how to break it. AV, Quinn, GG, once it happens, we are ******. We need more size and speed.

It’s an unpopular opinion, but I like MacKinnon more than McDavid. McDavid clearly is the cream of the crop offensively, but Mackinnon’s combination of strength, compete and a bit more of a responsible all around game makes him a player I find easier to root for. As much as I hate seeing the McDrai years squandered in Edmonton, there’s never NOT going to be a part of me that says to myself, if either/both of them were as committed to winning and being the best PLAYER they could be (not just scoring as many points as they could) doesn’t one/both of them have the talent to turn themselves into really good two way players and make their team better overall? I mean if McDavid and Draisaitl each “only” scored 100 points next year but they were reliable two way players all year as well, wouldn’t that be better? MacKinnon just has a competitive fire that is appealing.

I truly I thought I was on an island of just me when it came to MacKinnon and McDavid. Sure, McDavid is a cheat code on offensive skill, but I prefer MacKinnon's overall game.

It's really crazy to think about. Its impressive how quickly the kids are developing.

And what I love about our 1st overall is we didnt tank to get it. We were competitive and got into the bubble play in round. That rubs the league and other fans the wrong way because they think it was rigged but it wasnt. That's why they all want Lafreniere to bust. Because a competitive team that didn't tank got to draft him.

every year its the same, playoffs come around and everyones like "MACKINNON IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE ACTUALLY", then the next season comes around and McDavid outscores him by 50 and people pipe down, then the playoffs start again and its Mac > Mc all over again.
