NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

It's quite possible NY could come out too pumped up by the home fans and be susceptible to some counters early. Being tied or keeping them off the board entirely after the first period would really put the pressure on.

Please score early and often. Shut the mouths of those whiners and physically beat them into the ice.

I had to restrain myself from saying anything at my daughter's dance class on Saturday (I live on Long Island). If my wife and daughter weren't there...I would have throw this Rag$ fan through the storefront. They're so obnoxious, especially bad-mouthing my Islanders and their glorious history.

Do us all a favor and pummel them.

Go Kings Go!!!

...I genuinely don't even know what I was thinking there

I literally just looked at their home record, counted it up right, and completely botched it.

That's a good sign it's bedtime.

I've been there. More times than I would like to think about.

Going to the greater point, they were 6-4 both on the home and on the road before the SCF started. I couldn't glean anything from those records. It was a bit disconcerting.

Then I looked at the Kings record home and away and it was similarly mediocre.

But then it always comes down to match ups. The Rangers have simply not played to the level of competition the Kings have. And as far as outcomes, or "results" hockey as the Kings' players like to say, the Kings have been better by the slimmest of margins.

I do believe the Kings are the better team by a wider margin than that; however it is clear that the Rangers have found a weakness in our defensive core and have refused to give our defenseman (and forwards) "time and space" for clean breakouts. Thus, all the turnovers. I expect more of the same in game 3. The good news here is they cannot sustain this pressure for a full game; it saps all of their energy by the time the 1st period is done.

This strategy has been very effective, the Rangers having scored 2 goals in the first period of each game in L.A. If the Kings can just get out of the 1st period scoreless in either of the next two games in NY, I consider that a huge win...given what I see is a stronger defensive game and a stronger Quick as the game goes on.

The kings manage to be up 2-0 even though there is a bit of a let-down-factor-carry over from the CHI-series. I honestly think it's a factor whether they say it's been or not. So difficult to mentally and physically recharge after slaying that chicago monkey off their back.

Kings are somewhat lucky to be in this position but I see them snapping back into their identity after these let-down performances (with good results). Being on the road could be what this team needs get focused again.

I think the letdown factor was mostly gone by OT of game 1. They had adjusted by that time, the rest is history.

Talking about history, I think the Clifford goal really woke this team up and trashed any invincibility talk that Lundy had generated up until that point. Think of it: a fourth liner who hadn't scored in 37 playoff games scores on the great Lundy. That had to shake up everyone.

Lundy is incredibly vulnerable; he has allowed 8 goals in two games (granted we are talking about 9 periods here, not 6) and he has also shown emotion afterwards (see the Mitchell goal, and just staying on the ice after both OT goals). In some ways, he is more vulnerable than the mighty Crawford.

The Kings have to guard against giving him too many soft shots early on, so he can get on his rhythm. It just gnaws at me when I see that. The Kings are one of the biggest offenders of this, and it always causes them problems in key games. They need to be better at picking their places on the net.

Get to him early (would be great, even though I would consider 0-0 after 1 a win, see above), and perhaps the Kings can get back to what their game really is: strong shut-down defense instead of trading goals.

Crash the net, score early and rough them up a bit. I still haven't heard enough rags players and fans whining.

GKG or was it KGK ?

Score early and plant the seed of doubt. If all else fails, they'll go back to complaining about the refs.

NY fans have ridiculously long memories. They will be crying about game 2 until the year 2054, and beyond...even if the non-call was debatable. Which I think it is.

And even if it was a blown call...it still only made it 4-3. They still had the lead. Why can't they see they are crying over a situation that really would not have mattered if their God had played like one and their supposed shut-down defense had done it's job?

Give me a break, already.

Hey all, I must have missed it somewhere....but I thought all indications prior to game 2 was that Regehr was going to play. In fact, I thought they even mentioned it at the start of the TV broadcast, but I never saw him out on the ice. what was the deal?

They can cry all they want, doesn't change the outcome. Funny that they want to put an asterisk on the game (and potentially the series, if the Kings win it), yet they had no problem advancing past Montreal by taking out their goalie. Buncha dooshes.

Because the Rangers did end up giving up the lead and losing the game. If the Rangers had won on that Nash dive, or Kreider scored on his breakaway, the noise about the King goal wouldn't be nearly as loud, if existing at all. As fans, we obviously, and at times obsessively, remember the calls that go against our favorite team(I know I'm guilty of that too many times for my liking), and are usually more like, "oh yeah...I sort of remember that", when dealing with calls that go in favor of our favorite teams. It's part of the irrational nature of cheering for strangers and getting emotionally attached to a corporate logo.

In the end, the Rangers did still have a lead, one of many leads they had in the game. They had their chances to score after that as well, including many chances in OT.

Even if the King goal was waived off, that doesn't mean the Kings wouldn't have still scored 2 goals to tie it, just like it doesn't mean they would have. King getting that goal doesn't mean the Kings had a better chance to score another goal, or that the Rangers had a worse chance of preventing one.

He was out there in warmups, but Darryl apparently went with his gut.

He was out there in warmups, but Darryl apparently went with his gut.

Here's to hoping that Daryl's gut was wrenched up enough when Greene stumbled all over the ice and created that turnover that directly resulted in a Rangers goal, and that it was even more wrenched up when in short order Greene got called for a stupid penalty, and then even more wrenched up when he saw Greene continue to struggle to skate.

Hoping big time.

If the Kings win this series, they'll be *****ing about that non-call like the Cubs do about Steve Bartman preventing them from going to the WS, even though everyone seems to forget that Alex Gonzalez is the real reason they blew it. Not to mention they had the damn lead in Game 7 and blew that too.
