Well...don't go and read 'em...

GKG!

Shut out for Quick tonight!

Pretty hard when it's in every cup thread.

The last two days have turned into who's got the biggest **** contest.

It will be nice to read about something that actually happened instead of pure speculation is alls I'm saying.

Let's put the boots to em early in the series! Time to show these guys how the West plays.

Lundqvist has a similar save % in this playoffs that Quick did in 2012. That should give Kings fans pause considering even with the Kings anemic offense they steamrolled through teams that playoff year on the backs of Quick.

There's *no reason* that Lundqvist can't steal the Rangers a series. Kings fans just need to look back to 2012's Quick for evidence that is possible. Quick makes key saves at key moments, but there's been so many of those key moments this playoff year because Quick has let in a ton of goals. It shouldn't have been as dramatic as it has been. Quick's still giving the team a chance to win, provided their offense continues to spot him 3-4 goals a game. That isn't going to be happening this series.

Not that it changes much but the Kings were the highest GPG for any team that made it past the 2nd round that year. And the two teams that were ahead of them otherwise were Philly and Pitt who had that series of games with football scores.

It will be interesting to see what happens because there are a few things that make this a hard series for comparables. The Kings haven't faced a goalie as good as Lundqvist unless you want to argue Smith in 2012. We're two years removed from that. Secondly, the Kings defensive numbers are skewed because of the competition they faced in the first few rounds. I don't doubt Lundqvist has the ability to steal games so it is up to the Kings to continue to score and for Quick to up his game a bit. I'm sure the defense will help him in that regard.

So when does the puck actually drop!

I'm stuck in meetings way late tonight and I'm terrified.

Is the game actually starting at 5:00 or is it an hour of fill? So a 6:00 puck drop?

Mmmm... the guys numbers have been pretty consistent his whole career. He's been nominated for the Vezina practically every season. It's not like the teams they faced sucked like "some" posters seem to like to put out there.

Did the big bad Flyers suck? Or did the Rangers beat them

Did Sid, Malkin, Neal and the Pens suck? Or did the Rangers beat them

Rangers earned their spot in the Finals. Suggesting otherwise is not fully grasping the whole of the situation.

Looking forward to a great series and sure wouldnt be surprised if Lundqvist plays like a superstar

1) Considering the Flyers series went 7 games and the first 2 games were played by Ray Emery...Yeah I would say the Flyers might have been the easiest out in the playoffs this year.

2) The Pens are notorious for playing loose defense and had a guy play 7 games in goal (MAF) that had to get pulled against the Islanders last year for horrendous play in favor of Vokoun. Spotty goaltending in Pitt is being polite.

3) Canadians 3rd string goalie played for all but 2 periods of the whole series. It went 6 games anyway...without an amazing save in game 6, this series would have went 7 also (Again against the 3RD STRINGER).

Yes, The rag$ have had an amazing streak...of good luck that is. Extremely fortunate to not have to play a top end goalie throughout the playoffs. Hopefully the Kings bring them down to earth in 4-5 games. I would hate to see an average team win one of the most prestigious trophies. GO KINGS GO!!!! :handclap:

im hoping its the latter. i refuse to stay late today!!! and F 5 oclock traffic!

I'm just going to come out and say it. Lundqvist is over rated and is a product of the Rangers system. He had a god awful start to the season where the Rangers were giving up something like 6 goals/game. MTL managed to chase him from the net and the Kings have a better offense. Lets face it Rangers don't make it by MTL without taking out Price.

Can't wait for Gabby to be pumped going against the Rangers.

Hopefully the Kings players aren't overlooking the Rangers as much as some of you guys. This series will be harder than some of you think.

4 to 1 kings. Goals by doughty, kopi, carter and toffoli. Voynov scores for the rags.

Unfortunately I think the Rangers take game one. The emotional letdown after game 7 will have the Kings a step behind. We'll rebound and take the series but I think the Rags win this one 3-2.
