Agreed it's hard to know, but just my opinion, I think if the 2012 Kings played the 2014 Kings that the 2014 team wins in 5 games.

This years team may not be as good defensively and Quick may not be the same, but the 2014 team is much more explosive offensively. I don't know if the 2012 team would have been able to do some of the special things this team has done, obviously 2012 will always be special because it was the first team to win the cup, but I don't know if I have been as impressed with a team as I have been with this years squad, it's just amazing.

No, no, no. If 2012 Kings played 2014 Kings it's automatic: 2012 goes up 3-0, 2014 wins the next 4. :D

We might as well start our own band...

Back to topic... another record...

Kings outshot the Rangers 20-3 in 3rd period in Game 1. The +17 shot differential is largest in a Cup final period since expansion in 1967-68.

"In the third and overtime periods, Sutter iced 15 different forward line combinations in 22 shifts at evens. This through a wrench in the gears of what had been a very effective Rangers' gameplan and they couldn't come up with a solution."

"But the biggest reason behind the Kings' late game dominance wasn't Carter, it was the play of arguably the NHL's best two way forward Anze Kopitar."

Reading the thread here and the reports about how the media is presenting (or not presenting) the Kings, I must mention that here in Montreal in the French media (newspaper, RDS, radio) it's basically all about LAK. One of the best comments in this morning's LA PRESSE: The Rangers found out that the Kings are not the Canadiens and you cannot basically sit on a one or two goal lead.

At the same time, no time to become overconfident.

3 more to go... one at a time.

GKG!

Listening to 102.7 on my way to work, Ryan seacrest and co. want a king player to strip down so they can see their scars. They were thinking about asking Stoll, but some girl called in saying they should ask Carter, so now they are deciding if they should strip down in a pool or hottub. Seacrest sounds so anxious and excited lol. They better video this if it happens. :D

President and CEO Dan Beckerman...

“The unsubstantiated rumors printed in the New York Post earlier today about the potential sale of the Los Angeles Kings are false. So I’m clear, the Los Angeles Kings are not for sale, and there are no plans to sell the franchise today, tomorrow or anytime in the future. These rumors were started by anonymous sources seeking to create chaos and mischief. We remain solely focused on one goal, winning the Stanley Cup, and we will not be distracted by such irresponsible reports.”

What do you honestly expect from a ****ing garbage news source like the New York Post? If this was the NBA ESPN would have an hour long segment about how the wavering ownership could potentially help the Miami Heat.

Rangers got nothing, NY Post knows it, pulls this crap.

Someone posted a comment on that PHT article that the NY Post also published photos of two innocent persons who were suspected of carrying out the Boston marathon bombing. Here is the article where those two individuals are suing the NY Post.

The Post has always been a rag approaching National Enquirer status. It doesn't surprise me that they feel it is ok to publish false information and purport it to be true. But when it starts to affect people's lives as it did in the "bag men" article, serious consideration should be given to ostracizing the people involved, much as those purported "bag men" had been ostracized due to the **** ty reporting.

Brilliant. :handclap:

Nice gif, TheSentinel.

15 different line combinations as a counter-move, Tony? I really love chess games in hockey.

That was more like Hungry Hungry Hippos. :) At one point I looked at the TV in the 3rd and realized the 3 forwards on for LA have never played on the same line before in the playoffs, then Sutter sent out another blender full and I wondered when Vigneault's head would explode.

I could watch the 2:15 mark through the 2:35 mark on this video over and over again. CBC always has terrific camera angles for reaction shots.

RDS had some great Rangers bench reaction shots later in the clip.

That would be do to him being Seacrest(ly) gay.

I was confused at home so I can only imagine the chaos on the bench

When we have the superior depth and the opponent doesn't have near the gamebreaking forwards that our previous opponents have had, that's one surefire way to wreck their best laid plans.

I get dogtired of those Rangers fans who cant even admit they are the underdogs.

Its not wrong to have some confidence in your team and it doesnt really matter but I have read some real **** from them. That annoyed me. Personally I think it was even worse than when the Kings faced San Jose, Anaheim and Chicago. It was "Vancouver bad" IMO.

Whats even more funny. When they were up 2-0, some of those same people were saying what was going on. Was this for real ? All in their own GDT.

They couldnt even believe it.

Strange behaviour.

One thing I remembered from the other night: after the overtime goal was scored, we all basically stayed standing, no one left. Then those a-hole ranger fans started shuffling out from sec. 301, and we were all giving them ****. One of the a-holes decided it would be cool to give us all the double bird as he was descending the steps...all the way down to the tunnel.

Such incredible class. Maybe it's the stakes involved, but I would sure hope our fans don't act like this in NY for games 3 and 4.

Take greater satisfaction in knowing that the fool probably spent a ton of money and had his night ruined courtesy of the Kings.
