First game was a bit of deja vu... and a dash of PTSD.

Bobrovsky always gets up for these big games, and when he's comfortably in his groove, he's as good as any goalie in the sport. The Panthers are also exceptionally effective at counter-punching even when they're under pressure and looking boxed in. They're just so deep.

Will be interesting to see if there are any adjustments tonight.

While Florida was not the better team in game 1, a lot of people are glossing over how bad Florida shut them down in the 3rd. There was never a chance of an Edmonton comeback the last 20 minutes. Obviously the question to be answered tonight is is this a mismatch or did Florida just win playing their worst hockey?

Also OP has Nurse-Ceci together, if that pairing is together again Oilers coach should be investigated for match fixing.

There's no way Ceci-Nurse are a pairing again. That can't be right. I assume it's because it was the pair last time and no updates as of yet.

I said it in the series thread. But this series is a wrap if Florida wins tonight. No way they lose 4/5.

McDavid needs to have a huge game. He wasn't particularly good last game.

The Oilers played a pretty good game overall, looked a bit rusty in some aspects, I am sure both teams were a bit rusty. The Oilers have outplayed every team they have played in the playoffs so far more often then not and if they can continue to do that they are going to win more then they lose. I think both teams will be more dialled in tonight though, I am sure the Panthers have another gear.

The Oilers were focused on setting tone for the series in game1 so a loss was expected. Borbosvky played well but his performance wasn't excellent because the Oilers weren't really trying to score goals. A major problem in game1 was the refs bias. Panthers were diving all over the ice and the refs just put their whistles away. That'll just encourage the Panthers to dive even more. Hopefully we see a new set of refs for the next game.
Congratulations!
You’ve checked off almost every space on the Wheel of Excuses in one single post!!
Pro tip: try to work in a Bettman conspiracy reference next time.

Weren’t trying to score goals? In a Stanley Cup Final Game? In this economy? Now I’ve officially heard everything.

:lol::biglaugh:

Beachball Bob has been on a roll
He ain't been allowin' too many goals
Two or less in the last eleven
Is a great start to get the Panthers to Cup heaven.

So a note to McDavid, Hyman, and Draisatl
Better not be too long to idle
You see that Bobby's become a brick wall
'Cuz he's seein' the puck like a beach ball.

They were only following Draisaitl's lead.

Anyway, here's to Bob pitching another shutout.

Agreed. Panthers started coming alive during game 3. They played extremely great defense and they started getting some extra offensive opportunities at the same time.

Period 1 and 2 was all Oilers. Combo of bad shots and Bobrovsky doing great.

This game is going to be a huge game 2.
