With the draft coming up, and the trade freeze ending in an hour or so, I was curious what everyone's emotional state is. I understand the Goodrow move, but between that and all these Eichel rumors I am genuinely scared of what Drury is going to do. In this exact moment in time, with the pieces we have, the right moves could potentially lead to a dynasty. Or it could result in complete disaster. I wish I could say I was more optimistic.

Cautiously optimistic.

I like the Gallant hire and the move to grab Goodrow’s rights was a move I liked but that goodwill was lost when I saw the contract he’s going to give him.

If he makes more moves that a contender would make rather than a team coming fresh off a rebuild that still hasn’t produced a legit playoff berth then I’ll have lost more faith in him.

I have a bad feeling about it, yet that it not because it's Drury,

This is the most difficult part of a rebuild to get right, and if there is pressure to speed things along...
Unfortunately, I do believe there is "pressure" -- we've enjoyed a brief spell where Stogey Man and The Dolt stayed out of the picture....now that both are back front and center, I'm worried.

Love this poll. I am losing my mind! Think I've been on these boards more in the past week than the entire 5 years combined. We have such a good nucleus. Drury: Don't overreact! Don't overpay alla Goodrow. Lock up Fox, Kakko, Igor, Chytil. These kids have not reached their potential (Maybe Fox- how can he get any better).

I am the OP, and I would agree with many other posters saying that its not exactly Drury that I am worried about, its what Drury might be forced to do, or feels pressure to do. I think its the Eichel trade that scares me most. I see all these proposals of us giving up 4 pieces worth at least a 1st round pick that could spend most of his career on IR.

The team is far enough from contention that significant changes need to be made (unless you're of the mindset that the window doesn't need to open until Kakko and Laf enter their primes). So I'm excited to see what they do.

Drury gives me alot of confidence. Who he was as player, as well as the trust given to him in the organization. He's sober. He's been given a mandate to create a new dynamic on the team, and i believe he'll bring in some key leadership pieces.
