Which matchup is better for the Rangers? LA or Chicago? LA is the bigger team. Depth at center. They have the better goaltender. Chicago should be the better skating team. The Kings have added Gaborik,Toffoli and Pearson to give them some more offensive depth. Chicago has big time offensive players. Keith and Seabrook on D. Doughty for LA. When the Hawks are playing fast, they have won their games in the LA series. Pierre McGuire believes the Hawks are a tired team. They had a very short break last summer with the season ending late because of the lockout. Olympic year. LA has played the same amount of games as the Rangers with the game tonight. 20 playoff games. No team playing 14 games in the first two rounds has won a Cup.

The Rangers will have to play their best hockey of the season to win the Cup. All 4 lines contributing. Play fast. Timely goal scoring. MSL looked tired in the last two games. The five days off should help him. LA has some D with foot speed issues like Mitchell,Greene and Regher(who has skated skating again).

Richards needs to pick up his play. He did not have a very good series against Montreal. The Stepan line with the return of Kreider was good in the Montreal series. Kreider has 10 points in 10 games. The Rangers need the Brassard line to play better. They were pretty good last night. Brassard will get the chance to heal up in the next 5 days. Moore is better on the 4th line.

Go Hawks. Force game 7. Sunday night. 3 nights later is game one.

Hahah...

I have to note what a huge factor McDonagh played in this series. Going in, all of the Habs fans were boasting about how Subban is far superior to every Ranger defenseman. McDonagh looked like he was on a mission to show he's every bit as good or better. How many people would've predicted he'd put up 10 points while Subban only managed 2?

I am new to these boards, but not new to the Rangers.

So happy right now because I have loathed the Habs since they beat the Rangers in the '79 cup finals. It was a great game and it was good to see them all working together and playing their game again. :handclap:

It is always a roller coaster ride with the Rangers, but I enjoy the ride every year. One more hill to climb...

I've been a Ranger fan since 1961, that's right 1961. I remember watching Andy Bathgate and Harry Howell as a little kid on a black and white tv. I watched Bob Nevin's goal in overtime in a playoff series. I'd never thought I'd see them win one cup not less two in my lifetime. I think we have a good chance to pull this off.

Sometime tells me if Torts was still coach here, NONE of this would happen.

LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!!

leaf fan here, just came here to post that Ryan McDonaugh is an absolute STUD. what a player. wish the leafs could add a Dman of that caliber. All over the ice, as poised as any other player. Great to watch. If I had to choose Ryan or PK, Ryan all the way.

Also, THANK YOU for beating the dirty habs.

Habs fan here guys, congrats and good luck in the finals!! Your size and team speed is what did my Habs in...not sure Carey Price would have been able to change that! McD is a great Dman...
Good luck!

B's fan here. Glad to see your boys put away those whining, diving, media ******** punks that want to ruin hockey.
Jumping on board the bandwagon for the Finals.

great win, obviously, and time for a quick rest then focus. I do have concerns playing against both the Hawks and Kings. The Rangers' inability to finish is troubling. Puck movement seems good. Skating seems good. Transition game seems good. When they get around the net, they just do not seem to be able to get those quality second and third chances. Getting good wood (on the puck) has alluded them and the ability to fight inside and be effective inside also has alluded them and that's something that needs to be changed for the next round. Lundqvist will not be able to give up more than two goals in a game to win the next series if they do not find a way to get the bounces going their way. They're working hard. It's really going to come down to big guys, St. Louis, Nash and Richards, earning their paychecks.

Unbelievable.

Kudos to the Brassard and Moore lines. They were the difference makers all game.

Rangers depth and speed seemingly beat Montreal's will to win right out of them. They looked gassed and, despite the 1 goal game, not much of a threat.

Just scoped out the Hawks and Kings boards. They're pretty much laughing in our faces. I hope our guys play in this SCF to some crazy, insane, elevated level that's never been seen.

I wonder what the team did last night after the game?

not that many of you will know or care who he is, but a one time English "soccer" player named Alan Shearer told the press after winning the premier league that he'd celebrate by weather-treating his garden fence.

oddly, he had a reputation as being rather boring.

hope the nyr did something a little more exciting (even if they haven't won yet).

Die Hard Habs Fan here in peace - huge D Moore supporter after what he went through, have lost inlaws to cancer and some lump scares with the wife, if anyone was going to knock us out glad it was him, everything else is water under the bridge

Go DM
Go AV
Go MSL

And to all those ****wits that say the East is **** remember 1995!!!

Here's my short story - in 1994 I was a 20 year-old barely two years "off the boat" coming from former Soviet Union and one of the very few precious things that I had brought with me was love for hockey. I loved that 94 team, in no small part due to its Russian squad of Zubov, Kovalev, Nemchinov and Karpovtsev. Well, 20 years (a life time for me) later the Rangers are back in SCF. Reading comments here its unbelievable how few of us here can claim that they experienced 94 as adults, if at all. Very happy for all of you.

Now 20 years later I have a 10 year-old son who on his own became a huge Rangers fan at the beginning of this season. I am very happy that he began following the Rangers this season. So many important life time values he learned: patience, perseverance, character and never surrendering among others. I'm one of more centered fans on here - I don't go over the board with either despair or exultation. Probably because I've seen plenty times how quickly things can turn around. But watching my son closing his eyes at the Henrik's acrobatic save or jumping up and down like crazy when Moore scored or when the final whistle blew brought back the memories and old excitement of 94 as if it was yesterday!

Four more wins! One more hill to climb! Lets go, Rangers!

It's been a long time since the '94 Cup team. I was only 7, and just getting into hockey, both playing and watching. I had no idea how hard it would be to get back. I lived through the dark years of '97-'04, and this time around, I have a real appreciation for this team. I'm just going to kick back and savor the moment.

And on a side note, I really don't give a crap what the west fanbases think. The Rangers are the fastest team left, and have the best goalie left. They're not going to be an easy out. If the west champ is half as arrogant as their fans, they're in for a rude awakening.

Good. I hope the Kings or Hawks think they've won the Cup when they come out of the West and don't take us that seriously.

Any team. ANY team making it to the Finals deserves respect. It's a long road to get there.

Thank you

Am a big Bruins fan and I just want to Thank the Rangers for beating the Hated Habs. All they do is flop like a dead fish out of water.I love this guy Dorsett. He reminds me of Nevin Markwart. Good luck vs the Kings.[Yes not Chicago]/

Two best players on the ice last night :handclap:

'95 they played a token final before they gave the Wings the Cup, except Detroit didn't get the memo and Jersey swept them

Quick & Crawford are not Hank - and not even close

I thought top to bottom this was the Rangers best game. They dominated the game for at least 55 minutes of the 60. The kid played great or the score could have been 3 or 4 zip. If they can keep up that type of play going forward they have a good chance against either western team. Playing Chicago would be better, but you never know, that's why they play the games.
