Serious moment. NYR isn't even close to the 5v5 team that we are. Not even remotely. What is it, 19-8 now in 5v5 goals? 18-8? Maybe 18-9?
I still think we have a long hill to climb, and serious doubts but at least we are getting our chance to come back, avoided humiliation (so far - we shill have the opportunity to have a 5-1 loss at home) and causing second guesses that we were outmatched.
All that being said, if the rags do beat us, and I still think they likely do, (because this is what happens to us) Florida will literally dissect them. FL's scorers are going to make Trouba look even worse than we have. When the literal only tool in your kit is a flying elbow or intent to injure, you're going to end up a minus 8. The rangers 5v5, have proven to be found wanting so far over 5 games. Have you noticed how when play doesn't stop, and the game pace picks up and the refs arent the star of the show how dominant we are?
One PPG. ONE over the first 3 games and 15 PP's. And we'd be heading into pnc with a 3-2 lead. ONE. And that's not even on the rags PK. It's on our absolute self destruction on the PP.
FLA is a team that has dissected tampa and is now dissecting boston piece by piece. 90 percent of the game is played 5v5. The rangers are not that good 5v5 vs quality opponents.
